FIFA World Cup 2022 Round of 16 ** spoilers ** [3rd - 6th December 2022]

Has anyone else noticed this? The intro to the BBC World Cup coverage is absolutely dire - who on earth signed that off?!

I am also one who says there has been upsets, but come to think of it, are we underestimating the quality of the teams that we consider, underdogs? Saudi, I guess no one expected them to play well let alone beat Argentina. Same with the USA, we know they have really good potential but they have improved son much over the last 10 years, same with African teams, they are getting better. Japan have been my standouts. I think South America and Europe will always have the best national teams but other nations are certainly creeping up to the same levels.

When Gary Lineker said his sons wanted the Argies to win (if England didn't), I could have spit.

I can still remember the disgust at watching that handball being given as a goal, then utter disbelief when it was dubbed the hand of god. :mad:
