***FIFA11 PS3 10v10 Club***

beh i got stuck watching a film last night and never managed to switch my ps3 on after about 7pm:(

i did manage the Finesse free kick in the arena. i must say it took me what, 50 attempts? maybe double that. i hit the bar about 17 times but just couldnt force it in.

It was fun while it lasted. I think we overplayed it loads though which is why I never really played it after we'd all finished with it. Even though at the time I hated doing the stupid flower picking things they were quite fun, and the gang hideouts and doing them over and over to get XP. Oh yeah, kill 10 bears with your knife, that was a fun one. :D

Still undecided about trading Fifa in. It's a pretty enraging game and there's certain things that totally spoil any sense of fun:

Code: 
The AI, specifically how low rated teams behave on high difficulties
The commentary is often wrong, wrong names for players
Extremely slow manager mode which often freezes
Annoying manager mode email for nothing eg(schedule change)
Closing manager mode inbox takes forever
Pass assistance on can make your passes random
Players shapeshifting during cut scenes/replays
Arena sometimes being an empty blue shell and the morphing you through the GK
Offsides called whether the player received the ball or not
Skills, as above Wycombe doing Ronaldo Chops and McGeady Spins
Micro pauses for 4 or 5 seconds which freeze the game 
The random boot changes for real life players
Foul bugs where you make a tackle but you get a free kick
Crashes in the team management screen online
Unlimited money glitch in manager mode
Various voice comms issues, garbling/having to start comms during match
Never showing the right player during substitution cut scenes
Manager never subbing you in manager mode then saying you are too tired to play next match
Some players have the wrong haircut when the camera is zoomed out
Corner flag glitch where players run to corner flag and continually dance
Goalkeeper glitch where he catches the ball then falls over the line with it in his hands
No handballs online
Custom chants are way too quiet unless you use software to increase the decibels
That's all I can think of but there are more. The game just isn't fun, it's the people in club that make it fun for me, not the actual game.
 
how about offsides being given where the ball doesnt make it out of your/their own own half?

which is linked in to your offside when player doesnt recieve the ball...

ive come to accept that offline fifa11 is a non event. only online modes are fun. but the complaints you have relate mostly to out of game situations like the menu and stuff with the odd thing, free kicks and offside only effecting core in match gameplay.

things like haircuts and not being subbed in career mode, yes they suck but the core fifa gameplay is not impeded by this.

but what you have to balance this against is PES where online is a let down. the keepers are always abusable, the opposition doesnt tackle u unless u really run at them...crosses can lead to many many goals...kits suck online (for non licensed teams), pes 10 lagged a lot.

so imo there is a lot of things broken for PES online and core gameplay elements that affect you more in every match than with fifa.
 
Yep I agree with you Nick, I'm not for a second going to say PES is perfect as I had complaints about the demo and I haven't even played the full game yet but there is something about Fifa that gets me wound up and irritated in real life, and then that rubs off on other people or they feel the effects of it, which should never really happen in a game. There are so many factors as to why I was annoyed with Fifa 10 and after taking the last few months off, away from Fifa 10 and then coming back to 11 I felt fresh and more up for it but yet again I just think that Fifa ****es me off too much to be any fun. At times it seems like your opponent has an unfair advantage and the majority of the Fifa 11 online is just exploit after exploit and I think we've seen more often than not in Club that it's the team who can exploit the AI best who usually wins. You can still do that 1-2 with the two kick off takers which they said they'd fix, it's as if EA actually made no attempt to make this game an improvement on last years, all they've done is slow it down 1.5/2 times, made the passing a random factor, made the shooting absolutely terrible, sometimes you'll charge the kick and it will fly over, other times you'll do the same amount of power and the keeper will comfortably catch it, the tackling is a mess, yet again. The slide tackle has been improved dramatically but then with that comes the new retarded referee who got a set of shiny new cards for Christmas and wants to give them to you for so much as a sneeze on the opposition. The standing tackle is often ineffectual for me, I'll do it and then it will just bounce away to one of their other players who then sprints past me while my player takes an inordinate amount of time recovering from making a tackle.

It's actually making me angry just thinking about it. :p
 
Many of those things will be fixed in the inevitable patch. The only thing is with FIFA it might not be with us until January.

You'll miss Club when you don't have it, I know I am :(

If I miss it that much I can always re-buy the game. I've made my decision now though, just having some breakfast and then trading it and a few other games in. See you all in Gran Turismo 5. :p

Theres paid for MP DLC that could be worth getting? I still done nothing in RDR so if people want a break and play that Im deffo up for it if you can help me get crap too...

Im not finding Club fun - but last night was first night I was competent and considering its still the same release month I cant help think, like you would say, it will get better. Im sure when FIFA 10 came out we were the same:

Think Res 2 is a good buy for the limited co-op MP - its a few different maps against hordes of monsters. Great fun...

Tbh I think we should just play Club less (every other day) and maybe it wont dominate our year like 09/10 did - which is fine for me - I get tired of constantly taking up my time and the limited amount of progress Ive made in other games is annoying (and costly) :p

I agree with you there pol, I've enjoyed playing the occasional game since 11 came out, as you'll have noticed even when I was up and running i only played the occasional night.

I am always up for some multiplayer RDR, I've not even played the free addon as of yet! Had a really good session on it with Whappers a few weeks ago and it's real good fun playing the matches on a public server.

Also enjoy Modnation Racers, but I think you were all put off by the beta :p

Ohh wait.

EDIT: Took Fifa 11, Fifa 10, NHL 10, RDR and Modern Borefare 2 to the Purple shop, £58. Don't know if that's good or bad, I didn't bother asking him what the prices were for the individual games and wasn't worth peddling over a couple of quid difference at the most. Decided to pick up MAG and PES 2011.

whos going to carry on with fifa? im still up for regular fifa more regular than i have been so far for sure if other people are deffo going to continue?
