Fighting Frost

Sounds like you need to give your interior a good drying out to see if it helps. Heaters on, windows down a crack to let the vapour out the car instead of just moving about the inside and getting worse.

I've been leaving my windows cracked open all day at work as I Park under cover. My car (mk3 astra) is very bad for it though. I think I'll try another new pollen filter!

If you use a spray can deicer you get cold hands or a soggy finger tip anyway.

Nobody wants a soggy tip in the mornings!

Car on, heated windows on, walk away and have breakfast *If you have a driveway* come back 5-10mins toasty inside and car is ready to have its nuts revved off.

This is my preferred method. Start engine, put blowers on full and heated rear screen on, come back when it's up to temperature.

What's wrong with using a scraper?

James complained about cold hands. I bought him some gloves but he flatly refuses, telling me all sorts of stories about unions and frostbite.

I've given him the dog house for a week and revoked his glove perk, the ungrateful *****.

If I'm stupid enough to leave the car parked outside, I simply press the little heated front windscreen button and wait 30 seconds for the thickest of ice to melt. That's normally enough time for the seat to heat up too.

:D
Park it really close to the wall, don't get ice on the screen unless it's properly arctic. It's frequently frozen in the car park after work though, in which case spray some de-icer on it and drive off a few seconds later.

This is a good tip. When I worked nights I always used to park my car in the conifers across the edge of the car park. Always came back to a clear front screen.
