Fila trainers from the late 80s - early 90s

These were popular when I was at school, they did look a bit mental

I think those Puma trainers with no laces but just a twisty disk thing to tighten them were around at the same time - along with spliffy jeans and adidas popper trousers.

Crazy times

I don't remember these Filas, for me it's school memories of Nevica ski jackets, Reebok Blacktop pumps (with hexalite soles), Nike Jordan VI infrareds and Jordan VII Raptors/Bordeauxs. Was too young to afford most of this kit; wasn't in the rich kid/cool gang anyway :D

We had a non uniform day at school and everyone wore a pastel coloured shellsuit combo, I kid you not.... It was at the time of the poll tax riots.. 1988? Maybe 87....

(1990 apparently :p)

I remember when one my girlfriends worked in a sport shop and used to buy me quiet a few shell suits :o
I was with her from roughly 1990 to 1995 so my shell suit days were somewhere between them years

Pretty sure I remember the trainers OP is referencing.

Definitely remember the other brands mentioned, including NASA (they made it as far as West Sussex at least).

Kickers were popular school shoes, the moccasin style ones with the tag. Also there was apparently a way to tell fake Ben Sherman shirts from the wash label or something.
