Even though the graphics in that video are incredible, they are still a long way off becoming perfect. I'm sure eventually graphics will become so advanced you can't tell the difference, but I would say we are some way off until that happens.

we are there already with CGI. we just need PCs to be about 1000x more powerful.

there are server farms now that can render top quality GCI in realtime, rather than taking weeks.

you are right that i think consumers will have a fair wait yet before we are playing games that look at good as, say, Avatar

These ones are done from a 3D scan using 18 cameras

The edges are only a bit funny on the last one because the mesh is reduced down to 7% of the original poly count

That isn't real enough to make me believe that is a real person. His skin is too "matte" if you know what I mean...

Yeah, the detail is extremely good but you can tell it is a fake but a good fake. :)

The hair seems to be a bit fake looking too, but it is a great attempt as it was just a casual designer who made it, and not someone with all the equipment and background. :)

E: Skillmister they are awesome!

Is it me or does Morgan Fremman never seem to age? I mean he has been making movies since time began and he has always looked the same age lol.

That ea film is great, but why does outside/vegetation always look so much better than the Inside of buildings especially metal/industrial buildings. What's so hard to code about it, compared to the insanely detailed vegetation all responding dynamically, which looks hugely more impressive than said buildings.

I'd love to go here!

Oh wait! :(

(Found out this is a real place, this is just a 3D Max version of it!)

they can code outdoors much more easily now with all the tools they build into the engine. insides and buildings they still need to use old style mehods which means gigs of textures or the same basic ones repeated all the time, same with building meshes.

This completely.

Graphics are very very good.

Don't have a touch on reality though.

I know I'm not looking at something real..

My question is more when will so many CCTV cameras stop recording their footage with a calculator and start using something that is remotely clear than when will they be edited to look realistic.

I was thinking that too the other day, we have cheap webcams that record better footage than most CCTV cameras! :p

Surely the quality of the camera should be a priority so things are clear. :)
