Final Fantasy 7 for pc

I found a copy of ff7 for pc but it says it is for windows 95 should it still work on xp home.
Ive already got the game for ps infact my grandad is playing it as i type :p

Yeh should work fine, if you do get any hiccups run it compatibility mode for 95.

being the name u mentioned is a competitor should you of really said it yourself oO ..
 
The reason i want it for pc is cause my grandad is always on it, infact while im typing hes playing it now. Hes currently on disk1 at fort condor, but anyway if i got it ill be playing it all the time.
Ive downloaded the demo although it only let me do some battles i found the controls fine except i couldnt figure out the cancel button. But you can change the controls in the proper game so no worries.
 
Ive just ordered final fantasy 7 along with the official startegy guide. Ive completed it so many times i dont need a strategy guide i just like having the book like i got for all the other final fantsy series, im a collector :)

Anyway when i do get the game and cant get on with the controls what controller off overclockers would you recommend, it must work with ff7 and plz choose one similiar to a playstation controller.

why was it horrible its final fantasy 7 :)
Is it cause the controls are horrible well u can change them, cant u.

hehe its the same its a total rip :) 100% rip to the pc i spent so much time on that and did everything u could possibly do on the ps version then last year designed to play it on my pc and it was so the same!! no diff what so ever
 
I can't remember exactly but I think the music isn't as good in the PC version as they used midi...? Obviously everything would look sharper than on PS but even when it first came out on PC, it looked kinda old. It won't play any different though, its still everybody's favourite RPG :D
 
Final fantasy seven does't work on xp, even with compatibility set to 95. It works up to when you have the flashback with sephiroth when facing the dragon, then a bug kicks in which makes all of sephiroths attacks miss, which means a level 1 cloud has to beat like a level 50 dragon which is 100% impossible. There is a unofficial patch out though, give me your email and i'll send it to you.

The game can also get a bit buggy at the chocobo races but that one isn't fatal.

edit: If you set up the config file correcty the graphics are just as good as the ps1 version. However if you run it with the default settings the graphics are poo.

Just been on gamespot and they got some patches on there:

xp patch for chocobo races its unofficial one

final fantasy 7 v1.01 patch its for users on the riva graphics cards. Im gonna download it to see if it has bug fixes.

that's rubbish. the music's crap, the FMV's are low res and the speed on the sub games is/are screwed up on the pc version. The ps version kicks it all over the place.
