Final Fantasy 7

I had loads of problems, thats why i downloaded a pre-configured epsxe emulator from my newsgroup server, however as mentioned, having the psx rom is naughty so it's impossible to get it running legally.
Apparently it is legal if you rip the rom from your own PS, and apparently there is a way to do that using a gameshark or action replay. So I think it is possible, albeit awkward, to so it legally.

Anyone remember Bleem? That seemed legit but after Sony sued them it turned out to be illegal for some reason.

I absolutely loved the game back in its day, I must have completed it atleast 20 times over the past 10 years (4 of those were in the first year alone!)

What I'm not fond of though is all the mediocre clones we see all the time and I'm also including the later final fantasies. The series just went downhill since it moved to the PS2 IMO and FFXII was the final nail in the coffin.

FFVII though looks aweful on PS2 through my HDTV so I always opt for the emulator option if I decide to play through my collection again.

best games of all times i heard they were making same game with new engine or it was only the movie advent children ?

They did a PS3 tech demo of the FF7 intro, but they don't have any (public) plans to remake FF7. Every month or so the rumour starts up again, but every time it's found to be false.

just random question i played ff7 long time ago and i think character called aeris or something like that girl with the staff when sepherot killed her i still was finding higher lvl weapons for her so was it possible to save her ?

No, there's no way to save her despite all the rumours to the contrary. I think it's possible but quite difficult to get her best weapons before she dies.

I wish there was a modern or even remotely increased graphics update for this game!

There is no need to change any other element of it! Its a shrine game! *bow*

Apparently in the original storyline draft red XIII's adopted grandfather (floating dude) was supposed to help you resurrect aeris before the final fight as she hadn't actually activated Holy. IMO i'm glad they changed it as the whole storyline was near perfection.

I've got a savegame lying around somewhere before she dies with the best limitbreak and weapon... i can't bring myself to kill her off so i just hang around in the gold saucer playing arcade games.

Well thats me now, with a fully working emu of FF7 running ever so well on my Vista laptop, and now go FF8 working too although there was a bit more configuring and fiddling since there were patches for it to work proper.

i do hope there is a remake made of FF7 as i would buy a consol and the game for it, but that is a total other convo and there are so many other forums that acomidate all the rubbish and rumors about it.

Can't wait to get my teeth in to these games proper now, better start munching now!

Oh my God. After all these years I still think FFVII is my favourite game of all time.

Apparently there was a way to resurrect Aeris that was cut from the game due to time. I don't fully recall the process you had to go through, but the developers ended up moving the key to Midgar to the Bone Village so it was too late to do anything.

That's what I heard!

I do have a PS1, however I actually live in two places, mon to fri I live 40 miles away from my parents, and go back to their house at weekends, for thats where the main town on my island is, and also my girl friend lives there (40 miles from my work, doent sound like much but its not a motor way by far!) so I travel light mostly and the main reason is to be mobile, dont want to be carting a ps1 and all the bits aswell as a bulky laptop vostro 1700 with all the added extras then my cloths etc, so this is hte best way round, and it works, quite well actually. Bit of a task to get it going but once you get there your laughing, best game i have played in the last while I'd say, well worth the hastle.

I loved it so much back in the day i bought both the FF7 and FF8 soundtracks from Japan just to listen to the songs whenever I want.. now that I think of it thats a bit sad but i dont care :p
