Final Fantasy Nooby - Where should I start?

I reckon you'll defo like FF series if you liked Chrono Trigger, I would say its fairly similar as they are both turn-based and have a strong story and keeps you addicted :)

From what I remember they're not even especially pretty - made cheaply and nowhere near as impressive as some of the FFIX FMVs, for instance.
Yeah I guess you're right. They are the newest of all the remake FMVs but they aren't as impressive as the FMVs for the newer games.

And as people say Chrono Trigger is excellent. If only square-enix wanted our money for it...

Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy 6 are easily my favourite Squaresoft games (gotta love the snes). Start with no. 6, it's the best of the bunch :)

Try FF4-6 as they introduce you to the class-based side of the games well. No fancy FMV, special effects overload, stupidly long loading times before the 1000th fight of the day and pansy characters hopping about, just good old turn-based fighting :p

FF8 was awesome! I don't see how people can't like it!

I didn't like it much when compared with the rest of the series! Didn't find the story or the characters or the battle system particular engaging. FF9, on the other hand, was fun throughout - can't see why so many people don't like it!

FF9 has an awful advancement system.
Learning skills and magic from your equipped items was BOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING !!!!

You will never beat materia and that's that :)

Yeah materia was the best. I liked the esper system from 6, that was kind of a precursor to materia.

Not played 8 yet, but I loved 7,9 &10. The games have the best stories out of any games and they have great gameplay as well. The perfect combination.
