Final Fantasy X is better than VII

FF 7 will still be my all time fav ! Don't get me wrong FFX is a fantastic game I loved it. Blitzball was superfun, I spent hours and hours playing Blitzball alone :p

But I have much fonder memories of FF7 I found it so emotional. I still remember when I first left Midgar and saw the world map for the first time and just thought HOLY **** ! There was just so much you could do in FF7 and so many secrets tucked away that made you go an explore. Things like training chocobos to finally get that gold chocobo that really felt like an achievement and was not something you could simply do in one hour. Finding the hidden caves to get awesome materia. The Emerald and Ruby weapons which where hard as nails and you had to train for it and have to think about how you fight them. The materia system was just freaking brilliant and so customizable.

That all said as far as I am concerned FFX is the last Final Fantasy that I really enjoyed. All the other FF's have just never had that same feel. Heck even SE have said they feel that the final fantasy series is no where near as good as it used to be.

FF was always about that epicness to the story, characters you cared about. That feeling that you are in a world and not just running through the motions. FFX (for me personally) was the last FF that actually provided that.

I'm looking forward to the FFX HD remake :D But I still wait patiently with the millions for a FF7 remake.

The problem is the game is far too easy. The first time you play it, there are a lot of things to do but the Weapons were really, really easy. All the bosses were easy actually

IF it ever got remade I would hope they make the game a lot more difficult.

You sir are awesome, To beable to kill the weapons easily without use of a guide, well sir. You are Legen....wait for it.... Dary.

True Story :p

To be fair I obliterated all of them and got a gold chocobo without a guide. Keep in mind this involved a play time well into the triple figures and a lot of just running around aimlessly exploring. Even after those hundreds of hours the Weapon battles were a challenge. Part of the reason FFVII is a game I have incredibly fond memories of is because it's pretty much the only big game I '100%'d without the use of a guide, i found it all myself.

I can kill the final boss in one hit though (without using Knights of the Round)!

Then make the game a challenge. There are plenty of challenges out there to try that range from making the game hard to making it borderline impossible.

Why do people hate IX so much? Maybe it is nostalgia warping again (IX was the first one I played, then went back to VII/VIII, X on the PS2 then back to IV/V/VI on a SNES emulator) but I thought it had a good storyline, music excellent as usual and I enjoyed the chocobo sidequests and tetra master. X I think is very good too for the reasons outlined in the OP - I lost many hours to blitzball :D

Pretty sure Ruby Weapon took some time to defeat......and a Phoenix Down or 10 !

Well I found the trick out to Ruby weapon without any guide. I killed 2 characters first and the used Phoenix to revive them.

Ultimate weapon was the most annoying one, as if you lose him while flying it takes a while to find him again.

There is nothing hard about Emerald! He just has a load of HP, his attacks aren't that strong either! Knights of the Round twice, mime materia. Sorted.

When I revist it I think I will

In fact it was only the second time I played the game that I had a gold chocobo because I had no idea how to do it

To be frank i never got FF turn based combat, of all the videos i've seen it seems horribly repetative

I like the look of XII through

That wasnt my reason for not liking it, I actually really liked going back to the cartoon styled art and the medieval setting. I just felt it was a weaker outing than any of the others. I dont think i even completed it which coming from a FF fan, thats just blasphemous! lol

I fought with Kuja, Up until the point he turns red? then I died.... And never went back to it. Maybe an emulation fueled revisit is in order :D
