Final Fantasy XV

Think i'm like level 5 at the moment. I take it Chapter 3 is where the world opens up a bit more?

Yup it does, I'd of carried on with side quests but I was sick of fetch quests :/ did plenty as mentioned above. Just make sure that you also do the hunts as they give you decent rewards plus gil, I recommend stacking xp till you struggle and always rest at galdin Quay costs 10k however it doubles the XP so easy to level up quickly

My advice would be main quest up to Chapter 3, then do all the available side quests in Chapter 3 before moving on. The only downside of this is that Chapter 3 will probably last 30 or so hours and then the rest of the chapters will fly by as some are very short.

Just finished this and even though I watched Kingsclave the story over all is a mess and I'm still not sure I fully get the point of any of it however gameplay was fun as was the final boss fights a pretty to look at so still enjoyed it all

I'm getting bored of this game now.

I really hate the whole sleeping at night thing.
I hate the travelling by care.
Not sure i like the combat either.
When i try to collect all my EXP for a 2X bonus it forces me to sleep and wastes it all.

Game doesn't force you to sleep at all you can only do some hunts or missions at night that's only limiting factor. Only time it will use it with out your say so is if you move along chapters. Once you hit chapter 3 don't move on until you have done most optional stuff

Tbh, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I did the final boss at mid 40's. I'm now level 79 in a couple days. This game is so broken when it comes to levels, ap, Gil. There's a million ways to farm and effectively break the game, it's pretty crazy.

There's a way to throw a few rare coins into a crafted spell which once used a few times then sleep at the correct place will pretty much Max level you in one go.

Like wise use some other goodies to craft a spell and it's so powerful it will knock a boss to half health in one hit.

Anyone experiencing stuttering/frame-pacing issues?

This game doesn't feel smooth at all... I hoped the issues people were reporting weren't as frequent but the stuttering is quite jarring in some places.

I don't know whether it's just frame pacing or frame pacing and drops but it's such a difference when it doesn't happen... I've just gotten out of Leide (end of Chapter 2) and the first petrol station is a microstutter-fest (along with the surrounding open fields).

Just got this on Friday and loving it so far, saw a really weird glitch during a fight though!

Completed. This in 21 hours. I just did the main story and hardly any side quests finished the game lvl 40 . There are lots of glitches that can allow you to lvl up fast but you don't have to use them. I would give the story. 6/10 I enjoyed the game and it paced its self very well apart from a few little areas. I didn't watch the film before I played the game so I was blind but I got the idea of the game. Boss battles could have been better but they were good enough. I didn't like the overuse of QTE. For anyone looking for a fun rpg with an easy learning curve and a decent combat system that will get you mixing it up then I think this a great title. I'm not a fan of final fantasy games so I came in with my eyes open and was pleasantly surprised. Also this can be had for as little as £18 at cex ATM. Bargain. I played it on a pro and didn't notice any frame pacing issues so perhaps this has been addressed now in the new update.

I completed it some time ago, took me around 68 hours as I did a fair amount of hunts and sidequests (and fishing:D). Some moments were nice but overall the story was a mess.

However, I really loved the fighting system and the entire "a pack of mates on a road trip" concept with cooking meals, tenting etc. The world was really beautiful at times as well.

The game could've been a proper masterpiece, had they delivered a world they had envisioned and worked more on the story and sidequests...
Originally, there were supposed to be three explorable continents, everything that you see during the train part etc. was supposed to be explorable. What we've got in the end is a small fragment of that with many invisible barriers and very bad sidequests.

It would've been truly epic to cover massive distances and camp, cook etc. in varied environments with great sidequests.

Can't be helped, the game had been redesigned so many times during its lengthy development time that I guess the creators themselves didn't know what to do with it in the end and then there's the problem of hardware limitations.

I've just started it, playing on Steady mode as High doesn't look that much better but the performance is noticeably worse. Not sure what to think with the battle system at the moment, I find it gets a bit hectic with multiple enemies and the camera zooming in too close. I'm using wait mode which is helping a bit and I've learnt I pretty much have to hold down dodge all the time.

Yeah I'm using 'C'. Sure I'll get the hang of it eventually. Targeting seems iffy as well, sometimes my hard locks just drop.

You don't have to, just take your time and learn to dodge at the right moment so that you can parry and land stronger attacks (even tag attacks with your teammates). Run around more and use warp strikes, magic, switch weapons mid-combo for different attacks, attack from the blindside which also opens up various tag strikes etc.
Tilting the left stick into different directions when holding attack gives you different combos.

All that makes the fights flow much better and look way cooler. Also, you'll unlock some pretty awesome attacks along the way.

I don't understand why sometimes you are prompted to block (shield icon) and other times not. For example, I'm fighting the wooly mamoth type thing, and it just side shifts and knocks me over, didn't have any prior warning, but then I'm hacking it and I get a prompt to block as another enemy is about to come charging in.
I'm getting better at it but I'm still not feeling like I really know what I'm doing.

I decided to stop power levelling and just finish the game, went through the final part of the game at like level 95, literally just farted at the bosses and they went down.

Roll on Episode Prompto.

Finished it. I enjoyed XIII more and that was disappointing as well. I enjoyed the ending, that was the best part of the game IMO. Such a shame considering how long it was developed for but that is likely a huge reason behind it's flaws.
