Looks good. You might consider replacing that disk with the 250 GB Seagate 7200.10 since it's faster and only marginally more expensive.
You should also be aware that in some instances those Thermalright heatsinks require lapping to get them flat. If that doesn't sound like fun you might want to look at getting a Tuniq Tower instead.![]()
I've used both disks and I couldn't tell the difference in noise. YMMV I suppose.
Lapping is essentially just that, sanding/grinding the surface to achieve a flatter surface. Check out the Overclocking forum for a couple of threads about lapping.
The BFG OC is a pretty good deal right now. I wouldn't hesitate to get it for the price.
ditch the mobo and the ram, get the geil ram and get a ddr2 and ddr3 mobo![]()
um actually you know what else I just realised...the 8800GTS is a PCI-E2.0 card and the P5K-E is a PCI-E1.0 motherboard.
Is this going to work?
are you joking ?![]()
Okay u are scaring me now. I have just ordered:
Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
With an 8800GTX, is this mobo no good? no1 picked up on this in my thread. I could have got an abit pro for less but was under impression that this was a better motherboard from some other thread i read?
Will my board not support the new 9800 cards properly? do i need to send it back n get a replacement tomorrow when it arrives?
PCI-e 2.0 is both backward and forward compatible, so new cards work on older 'boards and older cards work with newer 'boards. It is relatively new so you're probably going to have to get an Intel X38-based motherboard. Don't worry about it.um actually you know what else I just realised...the 8800GTS is a PCI-E2.0 card and the P5K-E is a PCI-E1.0 motherboard.
