Well it is based on the Gamecube for the most part isn't it? And components generally get smaller, so will run nice and cool and not need loads of fans and heat sinks to go with it.

it's actualy just a game boy and dvd drive in the box i'd imagine, but yes i'm baffled aswell, it's just so small for any games console considering what it can do

why did they do the ps3 in black - it ould look much better in silver or white (like the 360 and Wii) and match with most modern setups (silver case/framed tvs, dvds, etc)
