I was highly impressed with it on my Lg32lx2r. Only managed to get it the other day after lots of failed pre-orders.

Ive watched some scenes from:- King Kong, Mission Impossible 3, The Hulk and We were soliders.

The colours are so much more vivid and everything just stands out, I was amazed when i first saw it. The quality just blows dvd away.

If you've got an xbox360, a HDTV and want to watch true HD films for £125 its the bargain of the year.

I too have the LG 32LX2R (Great TV :D ) do you have any pictures of the HD DVD player on it?

Would be good to see what I looks like on the same TV as mine before I buy one!!! :)

Cheers!

well I have to say from the samples that I have seen from King Kong and V for Vendetta you won't be dissapointed with these purchases. I am also awaiting Aeon Flux and this I think will look fantastic in HD.

Thing is who cares how good two of those films look, they are both pretty dire, Sticking to dvd's for now where all the good films are. Looking good doesnt cover up bad films.

Well I think they are good films but hey each to their own I guess.

I think KK is a little too long but for visual eye candy it is awesome. I think if they could have condensed the first hour of the film into say 30 minutes then it would have been a much better film but the T-REX fight is awesome.

I'm still happy with the purchase and think that things can only get better.

Theres plenty of good films out on HD DVD  most people would tell you Batman Begins & V for Vendetta are good films and they are good quality HD films as well. The departed is coming out next month.

As for being too expensive well if you pay ripoff high street prices then yes but you can buy them for £14 online no problem (no region coding so import them)

I haven't managed to get hold of one yet.

I want one but I'm not willing to pay a daft price from ebay. The odd time I have asked in store they haven't a clue when they will be getting them in.

Please be aware that people are allowed their own opinion on a film being good or not.

Import from hong kong, £150 - £160 depending on how much u get stung on the carriage / tax (UPS got me for £33...£23 import and £10 handling), if i hadn't had the item insured/tracked im thinking i had a got it for the $244us i paid for it. Not that im suggesting you do that anyway it was just a thought

Im not keen on the fact that the entire sony pictures catalogue will never make it onto HD DVD.

No spiderman!

Actually Sony pictures have made about 40% of all the movies I'd like to see in HD...

A month back I might have gone for this but I don't see any point now. We're midway through January and I'm certain they will be available by the end of the month, so £129.99 inc is the max I intend to pay :)

guys just wondering how much your paying for your hd dvd movies as i have seen them for 25pound which seems abit steep on a funny note on the highstreet both hd-dvd and bluray movies are selling for the same price lol :p

Overrated, it looks good, but the quality of films out at the moment is poor. I wasnt overly impressed with the results on my sony bravia 40W at 1080p, downloaded demo's look a lot more impressive running through a pc and hdmi.

I heard that the HD DVD add on cant do 1080p through component, the only way you can do it is through VGA as it is a "digital" signal.

Something to do with legality of something, only HDMI can do a true a tru 1080p movie properly i think.

VGA is an analog signal, its just theres not many devices around that can record VGA off the shelf. Another possibility is a lot of TVs cant handle 1080p through their component inputs, only 720p or 1080i.

I noticed today that Lovefilm now have HD-DVD discs in stock for rental. I was looking for the 360 King Kong game and the HD movie came up with it!

Is the HD DVD drive region free? Theres a import place that has Japanese ones for less than rrp.

Is it true that the drive goes to whatever region the hd dvd drive is conected to?

Just look at the original XBOX... the CPU for that changed right at the 11th hour from a 600MHz AMD spitfire core CPU, to the Intel 733MHz Mobile Celeron as Intel drastically undercut AMD with another offer at the very last minute and AMD weren't willing to sell for next to no profit!

And what a mistake that was, this was a big factor in why the original XBOX was hacked :D
