Finally proof that dogs > cats

What if the cat is housebound all day, for fear that it would get stolen if it went outside unattended, surely it would be wise to walk the cat; for its own health?

Try walking a cat. It'll be over the first fence panel leaving you behind after 30 seconds. :p

I'v had turltes (the small ones) parrots, hamsters, cats, dogs, I even tried to get a hawk but my mother didn't let me at the time, and I have to say that there's nothing better than a dog. They are not pets, true dogs are frieds who understand you, but just can't speak. Cats can be ok, I remember when I was little and a bit sick, my cat was right next to me on the bed.

But a dog will protect you against any possible threat, we had a German shepheard and he was brilliant, because we where moving around a bit at the time, he managed to understand Greek, Romanian and Italian, show me a cat that's tri-lingual :p

What is the point in arguing over this for the ten-millionth time when we all know it's a rhetorical debate?

Because we have nothing beter to do midnight Sunday? :p

not really a companion like a dog though are they, cats are just users

also dogs do know their way around, mine knows exactly where to go when I walk him and if I get lost at the woods he knows where we are lol :p
Dogs do own, there is no two ways about it, they have emotions, they are clever, they know when something is wrong etc, a good example of this is that if im upset my dog will come up to me, climb next to me and give me a hug :)

yeh when I get stressed out mine always comes up to me to lick me, or if my mum is watching a film and she jumps, he gets worried and makes sure she's ok, another really strange thing was when the london bombings happened, I was at work in London and my mum told me the dog had been lying under my bed all day until I got home (never ever done that before and hasn't done since)

Whoever thinks of the captions for the images is just... inspired.
"Dogs can provide companionship"

thanks for letting me know, Mr. BBC.

When a cat becomes the most important part of a blind persons life then you can say cats are better than dogs.

* To walk in a straight line in the centre of the pavement unless there is an obstacle;
* Not to turn corners unless told to do so;
* To stop at kerbs and wait for the command to cross the road, or to turn left or right;
* To judge height and width so that its owner does not bump their head or shoulder;
* How to deal with traffic.

'Having a guide dog has given me back my dignity, my reason to live. Until I had Isla I was ignored, had been attacked and was too frightened to leave the house. Now I feel like a human being again.’
Hilda Winters, 89-year-old guide dog owner

Dogs > Cats

Easiest thing to do is look into an animals eyes. There's wisdom and knowledge in a cats. Along with a bit of planning and subversion.

If a cat could talk it would say.
"Why are you staring at me? Go away, I'm trying to read the latest Reuters headlines."

Look into a dog's and you get blank bulbous eyes staring back at you. If it had a way to speak, it would be saying.

"my head is heavier than my bum lol"

Dogs > Cats

a lady near me trains guide dogs, they are so well behaved, my dog always goes up to them to try and play but they just sit there and don't move a muscle

they do show a lot of expression in their eyes, although it probably depends on the breed, mine's a german shepherd and you can see he's always trying to figure things out

Probably brain dead yeah? Many dogs are so dumb they look like they're in comas all the time. :)

The same can be said for some humans on this forum, except with slightly more stupidity in them ;)

probably know they'll get shouted at if they do, the lady told me they only get a free walk without their lead once a week so they have something to look forward too, pretty hard life for em although you can see they enjoy it

Well it's time to dig up some evidence to prove my point. :)

Maths calculation:

Cats + 1 - 5 + dogs + 5 * 16 = cats rule.

Diagram:

Cats > Dogs > Some ocuk members > dog owners

Factual quote:

"Cats are better than dogs."

- A wise person, 2007.
