Finding time to pwn with a baby on board

I've got a 2 month old.

In the last 2 months I've played maybe 8 hours in total. Although I miss gaming, between work and family time it's not really a priority at the moment.

I still manage to play a bit of hearthstone on my phone though (maybe 20 mins a day).

i dont do any gaming while kids are awake.

put them to bed and the evening is mine to do what i please.

either watching tripe on the telly (mrs choice) or playing on the pc.

whats your batllenet id thing? will add you. always good to have friends on their

When my first 2 were babies, (17 months apart) at the weekends when I did the mornings, I would feed them they would then go to sleep for a few hours. I would then play EVE (my game before they were born). Now with 3 kids (12/11/4) with work, collage, karate. Time is even more limited.

Find time where you can.

I struggled with the first year...but i dont go to bed till 2am so i did all the night feeding and with the sleeping for 4hrs at a time i got some gaming in between. Now that she is 3 years old I get the missus into a tv program that i am not interested in so i go and game.

Also I dont mind her going out and ill look after the child. With me being a night owl i still manage to get 6hrs gaming a night.

Though its a struggle to find suitable Co-op/two player PC games for a 8 year old!

I really really have had enough of Lego Marvel/Batman/LOTR/Harry ******/Star Wars/Jurassic world.....

My little boy is 8 also and we play PvsZ garden warfare co-op as well as terraria and minecraft on occasions, i'm also fed up of lego games now. Also give goat simulator ago.

As to gaming when my two were little I had maybe an hour every other day, even though they are older now i normally only game once they are in bed and mrs is either going to bed or watching another bloody period drama then i can shuffle off to my man hole to game for a few hours.

I didn't get much sleep, but I levelled up quick! Can't say I miss the endless nights though...

must admit its one advantage I really did grind a lot with World of Tanks too. :)

My 5 year old keeps asking about Minecraft and I`m not sure whether to let him I know zilch about it anyway. Doesnt really interest me. Most driving games are good except maybe carmageddon although Flatout 3 has a zombie mode. He even has a Logitech steering wheel. I've bought the Bundlestars race pack before and a new one has just come out 9-10 driving games for £1.09. Bargain. Still can't beat Next Car Game for all out banger carnage. Although now you can race lawnmowers.

Friends kid is under a year old and he often joins me for a spot of late evening gaming whilst keeping an eye on the kid on the baby monitor (security camera type setup which I find a little weird, but sure i'll get it when my time comes)

recommended much better than audio only and you will find you go to the little one less than audio only and help avoid the little one crying on demand. They are not that stupid as you might think. Worse thing you can do is go to the little one as soon as they cry. Visual as well as audio gives you peace of mind.

With the first one you are more hands on and constantly thinking whats wrong, what it needs when crying. Second one its like, oh he's crying give it five minutes till I finish my lunch then I`ll go......

blimey think this is in the wrong forum ! :)

Forgot to mention, say goodbye to any kind of serious online gaming for a year or 2 (unless you have very understanding friends) unfortunately you can't just say "wait till the end of this map/level" when your 1 year old starts crying in the middle of the night :p

I have a 7 month old and manage to find the odd hour here and there...a week that is.

I find it hard to believe people manage to find serious gaming time with a child, relationship and work.

What else are you going to do after 8pm when the other half wants to watch rubbish on TV? :p

It all calms down and then you get unusual gaming time. Like your 3 year old cant sleep so you have him in his rocking chair rocking it with your foot whilst pwning in css at 3 am... good times, at least until you need to go to work. :)

Mine are 7 and 5 now so get time when they go down at night for an hour or so.

Well for me it meant that any online multilpayer game that requires you to sink hours and hours in to unlock or do anything (like BF4 / Ark) is not an option.
So I hunt out single player games now or online games where I can play for 30 mins to an hour and still be playing on a level playing field as there's nothing to unlock. (Insurgency / L4D2 etc)

Less gaming at weekends but I can usually manage 8pm to midnight during the week if I want to.

Partly down to the house you live in, we've over 3 floors with 4 bedrooms so the house is far quieter than my old one bed flat. Child (now 5) is rarely disturbed so sleeps pretty solid. Other thing is your partner, my wife is pretty independent - something she warned me about when we started dating, she likes doing her own thing so as long as we sit down to dinner and have a chat she's happy.

Oh forgot to mention since we had kids the 5.1 speakers went out the window. Headphones all the way ever since! Also blocks out there sound of "Daaaaaaaaad its not working" or "Daaaaaaaad I can't find my toy car" etc.
