Firefly

Shame.. no chance of making new ones now though as its years on.

Oh well... Ill have to watch again and again i guess in the future :)

Well, it remains the only series in history that was cancelled and then years later made into a feature film... so its not a complete loss! But yes, it's getting on a bit now...

Well this was the last episode and the film was in October 2005.. So its not like that far apart really.

Funny how that episode the last one aired was like 3 or 4 before the order i watched them in (dvd order)

It's all about those silly ratings. I've just started rewatching the series, finished episode 3 before I finish it off with Serenity.

Plenty of shows have been cancelled despite good ratings though, like SG1, Unit, etc

Why do they have to keep rubbish like oprah and reality tv carp? its like that Defying mavity. I stuck with that and started to get into it and then they pull the plug... is it an american trait or something?

The brother-in-law moaned about how lots of stuff has been shafted like Heroes and 24, At the moment it feels like a knee-jerk reaction about not having money but they soon waste enougth of it on american idol and the like

Yup Fox aired The Train Job first, and Serenity (the extended Episode, not the movie) second.

They seriously are the crappest Network. They're like the EA of TV. They just cant leave a good thing alone.

Fox had aired the episodes out of chronological order, making the plot much more difficult to follow. For instance, the two-hour episode "Serenity" was intended to be the series' premiere episode, and therefore contained most of the character introductions and back-story. However, Fox decided that "Serenity" was unsuitable to open the series, and so the second episode, "The Train Job", was created to become the new pilot.

the annoying thing is you can tell all the cast would love to do more, most of them seem enthusiastic beyond the usual level for an actor. Especially Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk and Summer Glau.

:/

Um no. It's...a bit weird. It's essentially about what makes us Human. Dollhouse starts slow but becomes pretty damn good. 6th episode in is the first absolutely fantastic episode (this isn't to say the ones before it are bad, they just don't have any story arc material really)

Quite a marmite show though I find, some bits in it I think are the best Joss Whedon has ever done. Topher in particular is a superb character.

I have got Dollhouse still to watch but assumed it was like some Sex in the City rehash, have I made a facepalm?

I didn't like Dollhouse at all really, some episodes were really good but most were really bad. I never started watching the second season.

You can tell how?

And its not like Summer Glau did much :p
