Firefox 10 Released

I guess updating from within the browser is a bit behind. Says v9 and is up to date.

That has never worked for me personally :(

I just download the .exe now and install that way. Not much hassle, just a few more clicks and an extra few seconds of my time :p :)

The only disadvantage with 64 bit, is that battlelog isn't compatible yet......

I don't think there is any need for firefox, when you go to the un-install manager, firefox and waterfox are both listed separately and have their own folders on the c drive.

If you do un-install firefox make sure you don't have the remove personal data box ticked! (same goes for un-installing waterfox)

Also, new theme out, ever wanted to use fire/water fox but have the ie9 UI, look no further!

Tough decision between this theme, australis theme and stratiform! :D

Okay, uninstalled Firefox and it's still working. The only folder that shows up in C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox also shows up in Waterfox. I know that it uses the same profile but has it made it's own copy and I no longer need to keep the one in the Firefox folder?

Stratiform for me, always!

That x86 folder can be deleted. your profile is stored in

Code:
C:\Users\YOURMOMLOL\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Yeah, I really like the choice you have with stratiform (my layout with it is pretty much the same as yours :p), but I love the minimal stylish look with australis (and a few tweaks) and the ie9 theme, but I will probably end up going back to stratiform by the end of the night :p

Also, for the bookmark icon, how did you remove the drop down arrow that is usually on the right side of the main icon?

I know that! :p

But that other icon/button (without the arrow), brings my bookmarks out in a side window (exactly the same as the history window), not a pop up/drop down box like for you. Did you switch the icons or something?

Nope, for me the other icon loads the menu as the screenshot above, middle clicking it loads it in a sidebar as you describe.

I have Tab Utilities and stuff installed too, might be an option i n one of those. i set them up many months ago though!

o.o

Just installed waterfox, started browsing with it... and its fast! So much faster than FX was! Its even a) Solved my issues with images not loading properly, and b) Somehow managed to fix the spellcheck which wasn't working because of one of the addons I had. And I'm using the exact same profile as I was for firefox, simply backed it up with Mozbackup before installing waterfox, just in case.

I'm a convert!

Ah ok!

I will check that out and report back if it works. Looks like a pretty handy addon anyway, thanks :)

Here's my Infolister output on installed extensions and things. One of these will be removing the dropdown, have fun!

Extensions (enabled: 26, disabled: 0; total: 26)

Took a few minutes looking through them :p, it is most likely the personal menu addon that lets you customize the buttons.

Thanks! :D

On one computer Firefox 10 seems to be a downgrade from 9.01 on Windows XP. Huge problem with image rendering with any shade of gradient thats dark or black that turns to blocky neon green.

I've experienced it on the Sky News homepage and the small black tablets/smart phones on Neowin. I had even disabled all extensions and plugins while running it in Safe Mode for a while. The problem never went away.

First time ever I've had to downgrade Firefox on XP.

All clear on Firefox 9.01.
