Firefox 10 Released

:D

It isn't actually "full" screen, I just didn't include my taskbar :p I have also tried windowed mode, but I just can't get on with it, I miss all the extra space and is better having it fully maxed when you browse image intensive pages, plus it just feels/looks.......... weird :p

And yep, I knew about that mrk, but I like the presentation for speed dial and just like it more overall than pinning my favourites! :D

I have the browser dimensions set to 1280x1024 which fits nicely inside my 1920x1200 monitor resolution - I find that's an excellent browser resolution to have as it means 99% of images fit perfectly and so to extended web pages.

Remember, good web designers will design their sites to scale accordingly or fixed to a width that's geared for the majority, usually 1024 pixels wide or thereabouts anyway!

Hmm, will give it another go and see :p

1280x1024 is the res of my second monitor...... what a waste of 1920x1080 :p

It definitely is much better for reading text, but it still feels...... weird, guess I will have to try and get use to it :p

It's not a waste of monitor! It's a waste maximising your browser to it and not using the extra space for other things like maybe a small iPlayer window or something :p

I usually have nothing around it personally.

Like you, I would never have anything like iplayer etc. running beside my browser :p as that would be in a small window on my other monitor instead :p Got to love dual monitor set-ups! :D

Hmm, ok, I got your addon filesize installed, pretty handy, if I am going to continue to use this windowed mode :p However, I now need the addon bar to be shown on the bottom for it, but I am pretty sure you had a fancier looking one that is quite tiny? Got any links/names? :p Please.

Just as fast (I have an SSD), better features and control.

Why settle for less? :)

Just out of interest why do you guys use Firefox over Chrome?

Well I use waterfox instead as it is snappier/faster then firefox and it is 64 bit.

But main reasons:

- pure customization for everything
- much faster for loading image intensive pages than chrome
- better rendering of web pages, renders them completely instead of chromes method, which appears to render whilst loading, so some parts here and there
- super smooth scrolling especially for image intensive pages e.g. the high res screenshot thread
- remembers where I left off on tabs that have been pinned, so no need to scroll again looking for the last post I read
- keeps my gmail account opened even after closing the browser when pinned, so no need to log in and also get a small notification of new emails, via changing the colour of the pinned tab
- user styles for websites work properly and when you load the web page it doesn't load the original style first
- for me memory usage is better than chrome unless both browsers only have 1 tab opened each

Only area where chrome is better for me/IMO is that the UI is smoother overall and it looks prettier in some parts e.g. the settings menu etc. Water/fire fox is just as fast for starting up now, even though I have many more addons etc. installed than chrome.

And some other stuff.

Meh beta of Firefox 11 has already been released, I see no major differences, haven't done since FF9

Speed dial Pssssh.

All I do is CTRL+T, begin typing a site then smack the return key and I'm there :p
