Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 is pretty damn fast

In old copy's of Firefox i would simply click on find updates and then i could choose what to download. On this version it will not let me ?

Im trying to go through this thread and see what i need to install because im a Firefox n00b but its all a different language to me haha

Any change of a simple run through of what i need to install and where to find it :)

It won't find updates for most extensions because they "aren't compatible" - that's a bit of an anomaly that I doubt there's any way to fix (Firefox gets a load of XML and doesn't see anything for a version beginning 3.1, decides there's no updates, or tells the server it's 3.1b1 and gets an empty response).

Find Updates will only, as the name suggests, find updates for extensions you already had installed...

You can tweak its behaviour (including switching back to how things were IIRC, or making it work in Most Recently Used tab order) with browser.ctrlTab.*.

Anyone finding this beta is using a lot of CPU usage, just noticed it was going slowly over buttons etc and saw that it had 49% CPU usage in task manager. Usually I would just go back to the stable version but it is a hell of a lot faster for me.

That's abnormal. Usual story, try a new profile/safe mode - blithely overriding compatibility isn't always a good idea...
