FireFox 3 - Anyone else find it some what unstable?

I use it on a number of XP machines and it seems to crash a lot.

Last night for example I was using it to LogMeIn to my brothers machine. If I tried using another FF windows/tab to do anything else (eg: google) it would almost certainly crash all FF sessions out...

Other times while just browsing it just dies as well...

Doesn't seem as stable as FF2?
 
Usual drill, try safe mode/new profile.

When it crashes, do you get the crash reporter? A link to the report would be useful.

I'm talking about installations on 3 different machines... I've experiences crashes in FF3 with all of them to different degrees...
 
So? Are they all upgraded from Fx2? Same extensions? Same plugins (and versions)?

Safe mode's still a useful diagnostic if it's 1 machine or 30...

One's an upgrade and the other two were fresh FF3 installs... Generally it's intermittent/random and infrequent enough such that it doesn't bother me...

But last night while using LogMeIn I could reproduce the crash basically at will...

I suspect it's caused by pages with Shockwave/Java and other such fun. If I generally visited 'normal' pages I suspect I'd have a smoother ride...
 
FF3 crashes at least once or twice a day for me... only happened since the upgrade. I may try a full fresh install tonight, see if that fixes it.

Mine is no way that bad, but it does seem worse than FF2... Let me know if it helps...

There are utilities to export/import your settings (ie: bookmarks etc)...
 
I have lock ups every now and then, firefox will freeze then the windows will just disappear. When I re-open firefox it doesnt ask me if I want to restore, its like they never existed.

Doesn't happen often though but it does happen. Internet explorer also crashes now and then though so I think it might be a problem with my work PC :p

My FF3 installation has been more stable than FF2. It's never crashed on me, been using it since Beta 2.

It seems Firefox hates some systems. On my brother's old P4 3.4GHz he must have crashed at least 1-2 times a day. He re-installed XP multiple times as well as completley erasing all his user data from %appdata% to try sort the problem.

Now on his new PC it never crashes.
