Firefox 4 is UGLY.

Sticking with 3.6 here too, just works, about as secure as you get atm too (theres malware in the wild atm that get through even the latest versions of Chrome and IE like they weren't even there).

I decided to upgrade firefox to version 4 in windows. Oh Golly it looked horrible.
Is there a way to restore the old look?

I know you can move the tabs from the top bar back down to the bottom.
Maybe there's an add-on or a theme which changes some other parts of it back.

I don't know how you can say any particular version of Firefox looks especially ugly when they all take up a massive amount of screen real estate that should be used for webpages. Switched to Chrome a long time ago, will never go back.

4.0 in windows is hideous, glad everything looks decent enough in linux though, looks pretty much like 3.6 here

It's just a case of getting used to it. I prefered 3.6 but now I like 4 after getting used to it.

Same with most things like the new Facebook.

Edit: Thought this was in the Windows forum

Yeah so it looks fine in Windows anyway, not sure about Linux

Hideous..? The only significant difference I see on Windows is transparency and no status bar :confused:

Pretty sure the only change I made to default was moving bookmarks next to the menu items. Edit: and I removed the search box but that was the same as yours shows!

I would have to disagree there, battleship grey is very 10 years ago. I might be on 5 but its no different from 4 really.

I'm used to my setup, anything that doesn't resemble firefox as i've had it configured for years is (objectively speaking) ugly, you're right it's probably in the eye of the beholder, i dont like change (especially that whole all-in-one firefox button where the application icon should be, thats the one that gets my goat the most)!

I think it's rather fetching in Windows 7. Finally it's integrated with the Aero interface. It's a little off on OS X though.
