They're disabled because those addons are not compatible yet, just follow any of the above instructions on how to get them working.
But before that why don't you install the en-GB version of Firefox instead of the en-US one.
The update is perfectly fine.
Just installed and it's good, although I'm not sure if there's a Gmail checking extension that's as good as the one for Google Chrome. Last time I checked, the Firefox version wasn't as good.
However, the rendering in Firefox does seem like much better quality. Here's two screen shots from both Firefox and Chrome displaying the HTML5 test website.

As you can see the results text is more crisp on Firefox. Is there anything that I have to enable in Chrome's settings? As far as I'm aware, I've not disabled anything in Chrome.
A default dictionary is installed though? When I has en-us it had the USA dictionary as standard, now I have GB, it has the GB as standard.

...although I'm not sure if there's a Gmail checking extension ...

Still keep getting random crashes/not responding problems with FireFox. Also my memory and cpu get utilised like crazy when this happens. Everything is always fine until I install Firefox in Windows. It's my favourite browser too unfortunately.![]()
Firefox really does just keep getting better and better now with each new version, well for me anyway
I couldn't care less about the version numbers and the release speed of new versions. As long as they keep increasing speed, doing under the bonnet things etc. and not breaking anything then I am happy
Plus it is no different to chrome and in fact chrome release more updates even quicker than FF and they do it silently which is worse IMO (I really hate that), so I installed an addon called "chrome update notifier" (iirc), which now notifies me every time an addon or chrome has been updated and I can then click on a link, which brings me to the change log
Although I wish stratiform would hurry up and update the addon as MY GOD it is hideous the default theme with that big orange button
And yes I know mrk posted a way of getting it to work within a few seconds, but I like to wait for the official updates![]()

Unfortunately Mozilla also plan silent updates for Firefox.
I dislike the idea also.
