Firestrike Extreme Bench.

Nice. :) I'm looking round for a new mobo atm that can fit 3 cards in Tri-fire :(

Mate if i was you, I'd consider a x79 and a 3930K with some quality memory like some Corsair Dom Plats 2133 mhz or better. Three cards need more than four cores not to mention the extra pci-e lanes X79 offers. :)

I remember winning a 3960x a while back on auction site for £200 and the seller never posted it:mad:

:( was refunded,i hope horrible things happen to her

Oh man, unlucky. 6 core chips are amazing, i don't think i could go back now and i loved my 2700K at 5ghz+.

the temps have surprised me tbh for air

Word. I can't believe how well my H110 is coping, though i guess the Noctua 140MM industrials might have something to do with that. Check them out, 3000 rpm on OcuK. Noise with them 100% ain't too bad imo. 1.488v, 4.8Ghz, intel burn test very high max temp 78C. Not bad for Intel burn test.

I can't find any x79/2011 stuff second hand :( I don't want to shell out on brand new gear this close to a new socket release :(

Keep an eye on the MM, with X99 due soon something will come up.

Without a known date x99 is released, i could be waiting ages, and i'm far too impatient :p

I think i'll buy another Z87 board now that can do 3 way CF and sell it all together when x99 arrives.

Look on the bay man. I still think X79 makes the most sense at the moment. I welcome Frosty/Kaaps/Scottys opinion on this. X79, cheap and second hand makes a lot of sense.

I have spotted the Asus Rampage IV Extreme Black Edition Intel X79 for £278 sealed

£12 cheaper than i got it lol.

I wanted brand new, with warranty personally. However i managed to DSR a board i'd bought previously for £230 so not too bad.

EDIT

Oh that's a black edition, that is a good price!
