Stood at the top of Victoria Park in Bristol last night - could see fireworks going off all around, plus some really big impressive ones that may have been from Keynsham RFC. Loads of random people coming to the park to set theirs off too, bangs everywhere - lovely :)

Any big displays in Bristol tomorrow (sat), I'm down for the weekend?

heres what we have this year

we gave the man £200 and said big loud bangs please. dont want to be stood out there all nite so went for quality rather than quantity.

the airboss is for the finale.

Looks alright, but you didn't get that much for your money. Airboss is very good though. What store did you get it from?

Here was my stash let off last weekend followed by the aftermath of the finale items:

pre-finale: x2 open fire + x1 absolute radiant + x2 tomahawk rockets
finale: x2 screaming spiders + x2 star salutes + x2 sky thrillers.

50mins, I drove nigh on 3hrs to get up there you wuss :p:p

Well worth it, by far the best fireworks I have bought and their prices relaly are incredible. The supreme rocket pack for £13 (12 rockets) really are the best value rocketsI have seen out there. The breaks and colours are stunning and really show how much air and plastic most other rockets are filled with.

Proper fireworks, always the best way, I quickly popped into asda for smokes after I bought fireworks from a real shop. And Christ they were queued right up, plus expensive? In comparison to what I paid, very.

I just went to the specialised shop that only seems to be open once or twice a year for my main load.

Pop onto ukfr and see their fireworks store map. There could be an all year round retailer not that far from you.

Far superior than anywhere else:

Supermarkets: Overpriced tat generally, filled with lots of air and cardboard.
Randomly opened shop for 2 weeks: Apparently all the best fireworks in the UK, biggest and illegalest :p

Well the big round table/rotary Downs fireworks are cancelled this year, they're moaning that they didn't get enough money from the last one (it was raining, and they'd stuffed the area so full of garish fairground rides, stands, local radio station loudspeakers, etc etc that not many people - me included - fancied payins £5 each to get in).

All I've heard are displays in Thornbury, Clevedon or Portishead however it might just be worth finding a big hill to stand on and enjoy all the smaller local and back-yard fireworks...

Would never buy supermarket fireworks, half filled, overpriced. Such a waste of money but people lap it up.
I reckon next year definitely going to make the trip to one of the hardcore shops for the main load though.

What town do you live in/near?

Awesome, thanks for that. If I remember correctly my mate lives the west side of clifton, possibly close to a common or bridge?

Up the Observatory by the suspension bridge) may be the best bet. Otherwise if you don't mind going a bit further, I hear the Mound in St Werburghs is a good spot for a lookout...

More than likely downends, I'm sure it's the biggest now that the downs doesn't happen.
