Not quite October and they've started already.

Good luck to all the pet owners. Last year one of the cats ended up with £700 worth of stress related bladder infection because of weeks of unrelenting fireworks.

Is it time to restrict the sale to the public (i.e. very small sale period, limited size and quantity) ?

stuff the cats - i'll be kept up most nights now for the next few weeks while the local weasels kids set them off!

good luck with getting that to work

Well as long as you're OK.. :p

I'd will people to go to organised displays to be honest if it cuts down on the amount set off.

Not just for the noise but the litter they cause and injuries from burns.

tough luck if you get burned - you're own damn fault. unless it was cause someone shot a firework at you, then not tough luck.......bad luck maybe?

Is this one of those 'cats' that are kept in the house all the time? Not sure if troll thread.

In order to do what I class as a proper firework display you have to spend at least £1000. ;) Gotta be rich to do that however, literally blowing £1000 to smoke. There is a time and a place like all things.

For the record I'm not saying ban anything. I like fireworks like everyone else, however it's tiresome living in Beirut for about 3 months.

I know this is GD and I'm not really expecting a serious discussion as such but would like to know others opinion.

It's Diwali.

Edit: no it's not. Not until 30th October..

Why would it be a troll thread? Plenty of pets get massively stressed during firework season

Because your cat is wetting itself, that's not normal, not to mention it cost you £700! The vet must have been laughing all the way to the bank. My mum has horses which are renowned as one of the most spooked animals and they don't seem to mind. Of course not all animals are the same but a cat......Afraid of fireworks in a house.

Is it? I said last year it had bladder issues (cats when stressed don't wee, this can get very serious very quickly).

As for your ninja edit, not all animals are scared of the same things you know.

As for your second ninja edit now you're just trolling.

I've got a cat. She's generally a nervous individual. doesn't like strange cats, don't like being alone, that sort of thing, but she don't seem to give a monkeys about fireworks.

If the cat has bladder issues you blame it on fireworks? Sounds like the thyroid problem our cat had. Cats are predators if they don't like something they hide; not stop going to the toilet.

I don't see how stress can cause a bladder to become infected!?

Increased stress has absolutely no correlation to the amount of infectious agents an animal is exposed to.
