Don't get much around here heard a few a couple of nights ago might get the odd 1-2 until the end of Oct, gets moderately active then until the weekend after Nov 5th if it doesn't fall on a weekend then nothing until New Year.

Which then causes infection.

Shall I change the thread title to "cat bladder talk" :D

Just proves cats are inferior animals. Should let the ones who cant **** after hearing some loud bangs to simply die from their self induced infections. Should clean up the cat gene pool a little give them a little step in the right direction in terms of evolving.

Do you dislike them? Or like them in a certain place?

As I said, I don't want to see them banned, just the time window they are on sale maybe reduced. Or that people go to organised displays to reduce the amount set off for such a long period of time. Let's face it a few quid on an organised display entry is going to be better than a back garden job.

Dogs suffer from the same thing if I remember rightly but nice try.

Not at all when you have a few mates/family round. Set up food, fire, alcohol and have a great time.

Only on OCUK can fireworks be blamed for a cat's urine infection:D

Live and let live its for 3 weeks tops not 3 months. Everyone has been a kid before , I'm sure you OP does something which annoys other people for example.

Well the vet blamed it on fireworks but let's not let facts get in the way, right.

I'm sure I do annoy others in some way but I'm not standing outside someones house at night banging a dustbin lid from October to December. Which I'm sure people would find unacceptable.

Even when I lived in London it was like 3 weeks tops must be something about where you live if it goes on actively for 3 months.

If it is genuinely 3 months I'd be ringing the police! I'm sure the vet likes to justify his bills and everyone likes a reason for something. Surely if your cat is anxious there are tablets he/she can take?

:eek::D:D:D:D

For the record I'm not saying ban anything. I like fireworks like everyone else, however it's tiresome living in Beirut for about 3 months.

I know this is GD and I'm not really expecting a serious discussion as such but would like to know others opinion.

Maybe the cat got the infection whilst it was in a Cattery (I assume you put it one) whilst you where in Beruit. I am pulling at straws here but surely living in Beruit for around 3 months would cost more that £700. That could have been put towards the Vetbill.

okay last comment on the cat, this is supposed to be a discussion on fireworks.

the cat in question is not an anxious cat, its one of the most outgoing cats ive ever known. it just does not like the loud continuous bangs.

and yes there are people setting them off pretty much every night between now and new years. maybe its a bit different living on the edge of southampton. i would imagine it is not the same people all of the time (who could afford that) so not sure what or how the police could get involved.
