Looks a lot slicker than live.
I'm actually quite excited about 2.4, am I sad![]()
Here's the unfortunate news: you'll need to earn trophies in games that are patched to include them even if you've already completely beaten the game. For example, if GTA IV received a trophy update, you'd need to play through it again – even if you achieved 100% completion – in order to earn its trophies.
it seems like features like trophies and user-music via XMB will only be supported in games created with the new developers tools that have apparently already been released in advance of the firmware update
He said he turned the background music off ingame and then went to the XMB and could play music as normal, so I think it would be for every game, hopefully.ingame music only on supported games as well?
i think this godsend of an update is turning out to be a bit rubbish

so none of this really benefits us existing ps3 owners with lots of playtime under our belts and nothing to show for it
all i wanted was my own tracks and streamed playlists for burnout paradise and skate
Out of interest, why has it taken so long to implement the XMB in game? I only just got a PS3 and as I have had a 360 for so long shouldn't this be as standard?

Ah
Btw.. he didn't mention cross-game voice chat in either of the videos
Never really seen the point in FPSing online with music playing because you cannot hear game sounds.
Cross game messaging is there, cross game chat isn't. Cross game chat being the ability to start a voice chat session even while playing different games, so you can play and talk at the same time. Messaging involves pausing the game and typing out a single message which is a much more cumbersome method.
