If you get a 600 make sure you know when the valve clearances were done. My mate on his ZX6 didn't and went through an engine, then a replacement engine after the garage that sold it to him swore blind it was in good nick and clearances were ok. We did the clearances after that and most were closed, though we had no real idea of mileage being a second hand engine.
Of course, then he went and chucked it into a field after running out of *cough* talent, I mean grip around a bend he knows like the back of his hand.
