Hey all just got my first build completed and all built after some time, struggle and confusion.

I have now got it to show the BIOS screen but only have a USB keyboard and cant get any of the buttons to work :(

Is there anything i can do?

Which Mobo is it? There's a variety of different buttons for the BIOS setup, make sure its the right one :)

And also, make sure the keyboard works in the first place!! :p

Its the Gigabyte Z68X-UD5 Intel Z68 Mobo

The keyboard is the one that im using to type this message so it all works.

The button to enter BIOS says : delete

but ive tried pressing buttons for all the options and none work

My friend had the same problem, he looked on many forums to find out that others were having the problem also. Turns out the solution was to get a PS2 Keyboard adapter, should only be a few £, hope this helps.

Ok i have managed to borrow a PS/2 connction keyboard that works fine on my current PC after the adapter didnt work

As soon as i turn my new pc on, the lights on the keyboard flash but it still wont let me do anything on the BIOS screen

tried that and every 3rd time or so of trying it flashes up bios then dissapears for a second then bios flashes up again

how do i do that?

Two ways,

1) Remove power form the wall, and take the Lithium battery out for a minute, put back in and switch on.

2) Remove power, short using a screw driver the two CMOS clear pins.

Bridge the CMOS reset jumpers with something metal, failing that take the battery out of the motherboard for 30 seconds, then put it back in.

Edit: You're fast Stulid.

Took the battery out for 1 minute then put it back in and still no luck

im sure im being really stupid here so dont discount really simple things :D

So to be crystal clear,

You can get into the bios?

But you cant use the arrow keys to navigate around?

No i can just see the screen where it says:

GIGABYTE

Touch Bios

TAB:Post Screen DEL:Bios Setup/Q-Flash F9:Xpress Recovery2 F12:Boot Menu END:Q-Flash
