First Build! :D

You wont need that many fans ;)

I run

2500k clocked to 4.2 (sounds good does that :p)
4GB RAM
6950 Dual fan edition.

I have 5 1900rpm 110cfm scythes and 1 140mm fan 60 cfm

I turn off three all the time, and the other three just spin at around 800rpm :)

Yes that 2500k is very nice:D want to sell it me:p

Ah ok, but what about if i get some high 120mm cfm fans for dirt cheap??

Sorry I was on the phone lol.

I meant fit the 120mm fan at the front (blue led)

80MM Meh! Take it out, it wont do anything.

One on the side? yeah them two grills on you're side case should allow two 120mm fans to be fitted to it

You're case specs for cooling

1 x Front 12cm Fan
1 x Rear 12cm Fan
2 x Side 12cm Fans

You wont need high CFM :)

Just make sure cable management is good

And yeah why not 2500k £12.54 plus £1.50 postage lol JOKE!

the fan at the front is a 190mm, it going down in size :o

2500k realy, what is your paypal:p

LOL

You don't measure fans diagonally ;) You measure going from east to west 7.5inches mean to me you have a 140mm fan ;)

Measure the fan from side to side or top to bottom.

I have just measured my 120mm fan and its 120mm across ;) And 6.5inches diagonal :p

5.5 inches 140mm fan on the front

Also what does CL5 mean as i lost out on the ocz ram, i have found some corsair xms2 800mhz pc2-6400 4gb, it has CL5 on the listing so what does it mean???

I have just won a new coolermaster 3 pin fan 120mm (No led) for £1.95 including postage :D

On my memory list is says 667mhz ram cas latency 4, but on the corsair 800mhx pc2-6400 xms2 ram it says cas latency 5, so i am presuming my board will accept cas lantency 5 ram as mine says 1066mhz, 800mhz, 667mhz on the website, here is the actual wording on the website below:::

2 x DIMM, Max. 4 GB, DDR2 1066(O.C.)/800/667 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel memory architecture
* Refer to www.asus.com or user manual for Memory QVL (Qualify Vendor List)

So will cas 5 latency ram work with my board???

Some pics:

I got bored :D

without psu:D

don't worry i earthed my-self out so nothing would get damaged :D

:D

Im on 103 posts :D

Also looking on the overview sheet on the asus website on my board this came up::

DDR2 1066 (O.C.)/800/667 support

This motherboard supports DDR2 memory that features data transfer rates of 1066 (O.C.)/ 800/ 667 MHz providing great performance for 3D graphics and other memory-demanding applications.

Does this mean i can get ram modules that have 1066 mhz as well as 800mhz (Don't want 667mhz seems low)

It says i have a turbo key, it says this on the box as well but i cant find the button on the board???

Cheers Luke :D

Turbo Key

ASUS Turbo Key allows you to turn the PC power button into an overclocking button. After you easy setup, Turbo Key boosts performances without interrupting ongoing work or games, simply through pressing the button.

So the question is 1066mhz ram or 800mhz

800 was what i was intially going to get???

And im not sure???

CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5

timings 5-5-5-18

What about that i can't find any 1066mhz pc2-6400 on the bay but have found that at the top

Well thats the thing i never got a manual when i bought the board, it is used so it never came with one, i will download one of the website :D

Hhmmmmm.........The online manual mentions nothing about the turbo key, so.....err?????

:S

I will do some digging :D

So i have found that it's the pc power button you turn into a turbo button, the information and activation on this is the driver disc :D

Still can't find 1066mhz pc2-6400 ram :(

lol dont worry.

Seriously though don't bother looking for pc2-8500, its much rarer for a reason, most 775 builds were done with 800mhz RAM because it was sufficient some even with pc2-5300 on their overclocked systems.

DDR2 is much more expensive than I thought it was, looking on the bay most of the sticks are worth more now than they were when I bought mine new.

where do you live luke? I'm breaking my pc this weekend so might have some spare bits.
