And this is my point. Not OMG LOL YOU GOT A C2 becuase hey, some people like C2's. More, OMG LOL £7k for a C2 when a 30k mile C2 1.6 is £5k.

The remaining £2k buys a lot of insurance and petrol.
I think he is bleeding Fox.. quick keep kicking him.. thats right.. right in the goolies! Oh he has gone down.. hit him again!

Im sure if he was happy to spend that money on that car he did so for his own reasons and not because he didnt know you could get a 2nd hand one with some mileage for much less.

I think that people should get what floats their boat.

There ar to many variables here.

My view is if it makes you happy then thats fine.

Afterall we are all different. :)

This cliche filled post was brought to you by OCUK.

It *is* a second hand one with some mileage. He's not bought a brand new one.

Nice car. looks clean and a nice colour keep it shiny :)

And can we for once have a thread where we dont question how much they paid etc if u dont want to say nice car or give a tip for something that may go wrong with that model, dont bloomin post. Its getting beyond a joke.

Wow, wouldn't this forum be exciting.

Can we have a new rule? If you just want an ego massage and everyone to tell you how much of a wonderful choice you made can you whack [EGO] in the title so those of us who like to discuss cars can ignore it?

your not discussing cars your ripping how much he paid. Perhaps he didnt want one with more miles. its HIS choice and if u read a bit further I also said if u had something usefull to say aswell.

Not everyone wants high mile cars and if they want to pay a premium so be it. He has 2 odd years warranty left and a car thats not even broken in yet.
was it what he wanted..YES it was

I don't want this to turn into some owners clubs where you can post a picture of a turd on your passenger seat and you get 20 people saying "yeah looks good mate".

Some people value a dealer and/or manufacturer warranty more than the ability to beat people off the traffic lights...

Why is it always the people who've never owned a new (or 500mi near-new) car the first to shout?

Somebody somewhere has to buy a new/nearly new car for OCUK to be able to recommend it as a second hand option further down the line :p

Really don't see the problem here, if the guy wants to shell out 7K on a car that he likes and it makes him happy, then thats fine, could he have got a higher mileage lower age car, yes, he could, but he chose not to and thats his perogative!

Myself, i bought a used Fiesta w/ 42k on the clock for a first car, from my brother as he had bought it 5 years before and only put about 18k on it, just kept it a year to get used to owning a car, this & that, financially managing one etc, then went out and bought a 54 plate Civic Sport w/ 14k on it, could i have gotten something cheaper, aye, something cheaper & more powerful, probably so, but i chose not to, someone will prob shoot me down for "defending my own (:p)" but if it makes him happy, then its all good in the end!

Becuase we've seen the light?

FWIW I've had the new car experience, I had 6 weeks in a 320i which was delivered to me with 6 miles on the clock ;)

Then I got another one, with 6k on the clock. Difference? Absolutely, and I mean absolutely, zero. Zilch. Nil. Nada.

Oh, except a difference in value of about £3000..

Perhaps he did, perhaps he didn't, so what? Why can't we discuss it? Point out our opinions? We don't know WHY he made the choice he did and what else he considered and if people like you got your own way we never would becuase OMG HOW DARE YOU NOT POST 'AWESOME DUDE CONGRATZ LOL'.

We've no idea what he wanted, and who said he should have bought a high mileage car? Assumption is the mother of all ******* and too many people on here assume what other people are thinking when they post something.

You can pick up 30k mile C2's for less than 5 grand, so leave the high mileage rant for another day.

I can think of at least two people who do care. NathanE, otherwise he wouldn't have posted and... oh you.

Becuase despite saying you don't care, you cared enough to take 30 seconds out of your day to post on a forum ;)
