Ok ill shut up about minis now, im just sick of seeing everyone getting pugs or fiestas as there first car on these forums :(

I know i know insurance hates you lot over there

how do you find out postcode area?

Insurance is £8 cheaper for me on a 1997 1.4 golf at 1050

its no more foreign than the fiesta..... built to last, more street cred an theres a huge modified car scene with it.

car stereos, £100 upwards btw.

driven much before? if not and your not going to be driving all over the country get something disposable for the first year because the chances are you will bump it
 
That is high risk and the Fiesta is surprisingly expensive to insure for what it is (high group)

A Metro would be cheaper - you should get a good Rover branded 1.1 for that kind of money

Admiral, Elephant or Bell (same company but give slightly different quotes) are good. Add your Mum as a second driver. To get an idea on quotes get the number plates of some examples off Autotrader and use these so you're quoting on the right car

Different spec levels can change the insurance group as well as engine size
 
Norwich Union are pretty good when you have pass plus, also try Admiral or Elephant, they are giving goods quotes out too!
make sure you shop arround, and try to use the cars number plates to give you the exact quote.

Also i put my GF on my insurance, and it came down by £200 :)

Yea, s' a Triumph - mine's a Dolomite - specifically an 1850HL :)

It's the 2nd fastest from the range, but has the most bulletproof engine out of the lot :)
 
Sprint has the same block - but different head, pistons, various other uprated bits. It's a 16 valve 2 litre in the Sprint, and a 1.85 8 valver in the 1850 :)

Shouldn't do, if they've been well attended to - murphys law tho, if it can, it probably will go wrong. Depending on the engine, the main bearings can need replacing around 80/100,000 miles - but it really does vary :)

There's a club car that's got 296,000 miles on original engine - had a freshen up at 110,000 miles but everything looked factory inside apparently :confused: :eek:
