Listen to these guys. Your first car should be something you won't mind getting the odd bump and scratch. I've become a much better driver in the last 6 months but in that 1st month after I passed my test, I scratched up the paintwork on my front bumper thinking I had more room between me and a wall than I had.
Preparing to sell the Saxo now though but still not going for anything particuarly sporty as I'll still be raped for insurance for atleast another year so it's looking like a Fiesta/Polo, or if I can somehow wrangle the same insurance as my mate got on his, a Mk3 Golf.
I appreciate the help gents, I didnt intend on causing any kind of upset :/.
I should probably point out, when I say the mondeo isnt cutting it. It's more so, I think, it isnt cutting it. I've never had anyone bad mouth my dads car
Psycological thing I guess, I'm very suggestable and I guess seeing the other guys in there mid 20s driving there beamers has had an influence on me. Am leaning much more towards the focus now for the reasons that have been mentioned, plus, as has been said, I could put that money else where should I need it, put towards a flat etc.
Trouble is, it seems that used cars are fetching a bit of a premium at the moment since I guess people are holding on to there cars rather than replacing them. Not a massive issue, but it does kind of anoy me that am paying an extra few hundred for something that in the past would be cheaper.
