Woke up this morning to black ice, decided to leave bike at home.

What do others do on cold/frosty days?

Glad I am not the only one with withdrawal symptoms!

Took the car today. Though at least with the bike you don't have the scrape the ice off the windshield.

I stopped riding in last week, though that was more down to my gf not wanting me to ride in. I hate the train.........constant delays too busy and lost of people with colds :(

Then again I didn't exactly love riding when it was cold last year, but rose tinted specs I guess, still hate the trains!

Down the south you can ride almost through the whole winter apart from the days that it'll snow which doesn't happen often.

I was on my bike this morning and it was not bad at all.

Deffo colder this morning up in Belfast.

No reason to stop yet, probably buy a bus pass on payday.. I'd rather sleep than sit in the car traffic

Same. Last year I was only stopped in Janurary when there was ice and full on 3/4ft of snow. I think I missed about half the month in total.

Other than that it's all good. Lucky I don't have to travel too far. Work is walkable but it's like 45-60 minutes.

I stopped commuting to work on the bike when the clocks changed. The office I work is down some nasty back roads which when not damp, covered in leaves or gravel are frosty until 9am. Won't be back on until March :( If my office was a mile closer I could probably ride all year bar January/February

any day when i wake up at its more than 3oC outside I am going to ride. This morning at 0oC + black ice meant I wasn't take any chances.

(good) to see others in the same boat and I'm not just being a wuss.

I have bee looking at the weather the last couple of weeks and I am so glad I don't use my 748 to commute anymore... It's bliss :D Quick walk and I am at work with this new job.

However... Everytime it's dry, I want to ride :(

I have stripped the bike down to the frame to do some cleaning over the winter, won't be riding it till February/march at the earliest. So far away :(

Well my smug 'I ride all the time' bravado has come back to bite me.
I dropped the bike on ice this morning. Low speed so mainly scuffs to the RHS panels.
Unfortunately my hand took a lot of the brunt and I may need to go to hospital if it gets worse.

Just riding round a corner and the bike just seemed to glide away from under me and we skidded about 20 feet along the tarmac. It all happened surprisingly quietly.

Careful out there, it's a bit slippy!
