First eBay issue. Ever.

this is a case of seller not having a clue and buyer not having much sense or the ability to understand people make mistakes.... Both buyer and seller are the sort of people who cause "issues" on ebay... (not the worst sort obviously)

I've used eBay for numerous years without issues. If it genuinely was a mistake, why would he not message me saying that and if I'd be happy to come to an agreement. Secondly, why would he then start the auction again at 99p lol.

yeah i just cancel the transaction then re-list.

done it a fair few times now. it's not easy to detect because ebay literally does millions of transactions per day. they don't really care about joe bloggs and his 3 transactions a year.

Maybe so but they are cracking down on breaches of their rules. For example my account was suspended for 7 days a couple of weeks ago as I sent a message including my phone number to avoid the seller playing fees. Expect to see more of this and more promotions.

I dont think you can compare you trying to dodge Paypal fees with someone not going through with a sale. I am sure Paypal considers one much more problematic than the other.

Yeah I managed to bag myself a nice Mk2 Mazda 3 mps on eBay for 6.5K

It got "stolen" the next day

Funny tho a friend drove past and the car was still on the blokes drive
