No I don't think they did, I've never seen an ootside netty with a wash basin in either.
Good work, would like to see a pic of the new boiler.
I shall get a picture up this weekend. Been to busy painting.

sorry I haven't updated this in ages!!! will take some more pictures tomorrow after I have got all the crap out the way!
Stud wall and plaster board put up ready for the bathroom
Staircase and landing all painted and carpeted, What a joy it was to get rid of that old hideous carpet!
Old gate that had no way of locking or closing shut
New gate put in, much nicer, feels a lot more secure and now the neighbours cat wont keep crapping down the side of my house!
Bedroom 2. AKA the TV/computer room/ lounge 2.
Ugly sofa always makes it look messy but its so comfy I don't want to part with it
Need to put up all my pictures and artwork to make it feel more homely but very happy over all

It did me when the clutch kicked in on the drill and nearly sent me flying of the ladder a few times
I must admit that sofa does look comfy
The bottom has gave way where I sit so its no pretty much a sofa shaped hammock, Its horrendously un-comfy to sit on normally. But I never do so its perfect!

Just scanning through this and wife walked in - Oh let's see it from start - then she saw plaster off and walls down and awful carpets and said - I am glad others have gone through what we have.
She is a good old stick - never flinched at putting overalls on and catching bricks I dropped down chimney when removing it - Good old day's "Not"
Our bungalow had separate loo and bathroom and we did same as you - in fact our bathroom is exactly same layout as yours - Was wall black cinder blocks ??
They are about worst thing ever invented.
She said looks so much better with new stair carpet - and well done that man.

Yeah its hard work, but worth it! anything else in our price range was tiny so we are grateful for the space.
Yes our wall was exactly that, still finding dust everywhere from when we took it down!
Our concrete carries on into the garden joy of joys! Its not very thick though so will come up easy enough in the future

Good progress! that carpet was ugly as sin; nice to see it replaced!
I can't help but notice that you're taking a fair bit of plaster off when removing wallpaper - I don't use steamers for that reason as they're bad for popping plaster. I use a perferator and DIF wallpaper stripper instead and it leaves the walls in tact and it's really effective providing you follow the instructions and allow it to work.
but...
sounds like you have a decent plasterer anyway and it's always nice to have a fresh skim...
but...
it might actually be quicker to use a perferator and DIF, and be ready for afresh skim without having to repair popped plaster holes.
either way, good stuff!

We didn't actually use a steamer on the stair case when taking the paper off, some of it in massive sheets the plaster just tumbled off with it. He did say that the plaster looked really old so it was to be expected.

Overdue Update!!
Bathroom time
Dont have a lot of pictures of the annoying bits. cast iron waste pipe was a pain finding a new waste to fit as no where seemed to stock them. the 6th plumbers merchant i visited sorted me out though.
We stripped it right back to bare walls and ceiling joists and started a fresh it was bloody hard graft but the better halves grandad did most the work that man just doesn't tire 5 hours of hand chiselling away layers of plaster whistling away and barely broke a sweat!
I shall let the pictures do the speaking. This all happened a few months a go now its still not finished but bathroom is in. Just need to finish painting get a mirror, flooring and some odds n sods.

And for todays madness!
we got real bored of plain boring white and grey staircase it felt miserable and cold even on a nice day so we wanted some colour. I think we managed the colour part !!!
Not to everyones taste but I am over the moon with it, a few little bits need tidying up but other than that its perfect!

Would look great for a hotel or Airbnb, not sure I'd have it in MY home but as you said, if you love it who cares. Certainly looks like a decent paint job!

Its not wallpaper
its painted on, Taped it all up into triangles painted each one and then a second coat on top and remove the tape just before the second layer has dried
