First IGN PS3 Game Review

not suprised in the slightest really, just an 'OK' game to be released for the ps3 launch just to get a decent catalogue out,

sounds a bit similar to ninety nine nights, but with real time weapon switching and crabs... so i can understand how they may not have liked the game from that perspective being such button bashing game

I saw it on the Gamespot PS3 Live marathon they were playing game after game all night. It was absolutely crap but then again this is not my sort of game no blood effects when hitting with sword was so rubbish.

It's tradition for Sony to release nothing but rubbish games for 6 months after they release a console we all know that. That's what made me laught when all them folk waited for the PS2 over the Dreamcast and ended up been handed a pile a poo for their time. Well I did tell them to get a Dreamcast but did they listen? :D

Giant Enemy crab!

Guess IGN didn't like its new next gen gmeplay elements like real time weapon changing and attacking the end of level bosses weak spot to inflict massive damage...

:p

I'm loving this thread

It's a shame if it really isn't good. Was looking forward to fighting the Giant Enemy Crab and hitting the weak spot for maximum damage :p

On a related note Gamespot have 2 PS3 game reviews:

Genji: Days of the Blade - 6.4
Tony Hawk's Project 8 - 7.3 (xbox 360 version gets 7.9 I presume due to online gaming)

crikey, the anti-PS3isms went from amusing to dull, and overused

cmon people, move on...

They wont move on, the PS3 isn't already out :p

They're not that bad at the moment, as considering Sony try and say that the PS3 is superior in performance to the 360, it shouldn't therefore have as many framerate problems. Though the Tony Hawk game could be running at 1080p on the PS3, and the 360 version only at 720p.

Edit: After skimming the reviews:
I think in this case, it's more down to the developer and poor coding, as the 360 version has the same framerate problems as the PS3 version.

The Giant Enemy crab stuff is just funny though I think, it can be laughed at by anybody, even PS3 fanboys as it's supposed to be based on history.

I did make the first crab comment in the thread though cos i knew it would come. :D and i am apparently a Fanboy lol
tbh it was marginally funny in an 'oh the poor sod had to say that, and i thought my job was bad' kinda way at first, but you must admit it has managed to well surpass punching in ovaries and nuking into orbit, by way of overuse and just how stale it is.
