X99 motherboard prices are falling and thats usually a sign CPU's will follow. The Intel strategy might be putting people off X99. Z170 boards are also dropping again and 6700k dropped a decent amount last time that happened.
 
Stock has to turnover or no one makes money. Intel and the supply chain can't just keep pumping stock into warehouses and shelves. It's that simple.
