First PC build help

It will be a p***er if he's got himself a double whammy. :/
can't be ruled out unless we know it's working properly...lol...
but colin should buy a lottery ticket if it turns out to be 2 separate issues... (actually don't...as you've got rotten luck:P)

haha thanks guys running the second test now. No errors yet!

On the plus side I'm getting pretty good at replacing the fan on the cooler now :D

But you know what they say about big ones... :p

Intimidating when un-boxing (if it's your first time), difficult and often painful to install and often susceptible to over exaggeration about actual size by the installer - but complete satisfaction can be achieved if installed carefully?

Yep, that's the Dark Rock Pro description on the side of the box - but also explains why they're listed at Anne Summers too.

The company I got the ram from (rhymes with scam) want 3-5 working days on receipt to organise a replacement. I'm not overly happy about this so have requested a refund and will take my business elsewhere. Is this still the best ram to get?

Corsair, Team Group 3000 stiicks all hit 2933MHz - so whichever is cheapest. Don't get caught up in minor timing differences...

* I'm on my mobile it is a Ryzen being crushed under that brick?

For what it’s worth, this is normal business practice.

I buy absolutely everything I can from OcUK, good prices, top service.

I also wrongly assumed the motherboard would have wifi built in. Any recommendations as to which wifi card to get?

Few motherboards do these days. For the most part it’s reserved for ITX and high end boards. My Maximus X Formula has it, but I don’t use it.

I would strongly recommend wired Ethernet, but if you can’t, I used the Netgear AC1200 (A6210) and was very impressed. It’s a USB dongle rather than a PCI-E card though.

Something like this from OCUK would be good, there are higher end versions with external antennas available too : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...-pci-e-adapter-90ig00k0-bm0000-nw-088-as.html

Thanks, I don't have any ethernet sockets in the house unfortunately. I was also considering those powerline adapters but heard mixed reviews. The only other option would be mesh wifi but that's much more expensive.

FWIW, I have the bt mesh disc kit for my network. Incredible, really is.
