First PC build help

...who leaves the plastic on the case window for the money shot! :D
me! lol. and the plastic protector is still on! 5 years later! lol. ikr madness...
although the quadfire 7990s have been replaced by a 1080ti
and the custom loop has made way for an aio on the cpu and gpu :(

Seriously, though, impressive build and results.
custom watercooling a 7990 in a prodigy (the prior build before the quadfire build)

oh yes, i remember the good old TR SA. horror stories lol

short term gain for long term gain :p

i know that feeling lol.
did a 7990 quadfire build in an mATx case with a custom loop :D

Jesus Christ, I thought mine was a squeeze.

Just took a look, great build mate. I really must post my buildlog, space utilisation definitely not as impressive as yours, but I’m chuffed with it.

Still working on the desk atm, I hate having this lovely slab of white, then cutting and filing dirty great holes in it.

Started running into some issues today. Twice now the PC has crashed with the blue screen stating your PC has run into a problem and needs to restart with the errors Memory Management and the rather worrying Critical Process Died.

On both occasions it hung at 100%.

Any ideas?

Run memtest86 or memtest HCI if you want the convenience of a windows environment.

Actually, you could use the rest - use Memtest HCI as it's easier to get running straight away and your problem looks like it could be forced if it's a memory issue. Here are instructions: Clicky

I'm using NZXT CAM at the moment but will check those out thanks.

If I've understood memtest correctly I need to have 8 instances open for each core and split the available ram between them?

Believe it or not, after contributing to this whole thread i have no idea what CPU you have - but guessing 9900K?

If so as above.

Two have come back with errors straight away :( "Memory error detected! Location -133652383 does not store values accurately'
Yep, kinda guessed it would.

It could be the seating still - but it's looking increasingly likely you have a dodgy A2 slot :/

I would try re-seating it again a few times and running the test again.

Would it be worth running in A1B1 and see if the errors continue. That should prove if the fault is with A2?
Even if it ran OK in A1B1 - you still wouldn't keep the board as it's good to have the redundancy, or future upgrade options. (could still try after your main testing)

No harm testing single sticks in B2 - to ensure you haven't got a memory problem and a slot problem, as that will be easy for you.

The joys, eh? :/

Now running the test again with a single stick in B2 - 8 instances running with 650mb in each.

No errors yet but i'll let it run all the way through then swap sticks over.
