First Premiership Weekend (SPOILERS) - 19th & 20th August

NEVER a Penalty

No Contact

If it was a Penalty why was he not sent off

Typical Liverpool

I'm guessing the ref sees it that Gerrard has had to ride the challenge, which is why he fluffed the shot possibly ?

Begs the question, how has he not booked him then ? Usual pants officialing if you ask me.

At least Gerrard didnt go down like a sack of **** to try get the pen.........though he was soon whineing when he didnt score.

Absolute minimal contact at best Gerrard lost his balance jumping the tackle.

It was a bit soft, but theres contact, its in the box and its knocked Gerrard off his stride from a goalscoring opportunity.

But, why no card?

No, open your eyes.

Absolutely NO contact whatsoever.

But you always knew something like that was coming. Reminds me why I bloody hate this game at times.

Have to admit, didn't look like any contact was made to me, looking at the variable angles of the replays. We'll see plenty of crap decisions this season so it certainly won't be the last :(

Yeah of course, suppose the commentators need to open their eyes too

And even if there was no contact, it was a bad enough challenge (nowhere near getting the ball) that Gerrard had to get out of the way of it, then it deserves the penalty, he denied him a goalscoring opportunity.

The way they often get two players mixed up who look nothing a-like, then yes, I'd say they do.

Anyway, what's your point? Andy Gray isn't sure there was any contact.

It's no surprise the other chap ( cba looking up his name ) gets it wrong, he's a pants commentator, should stick to boxing.

Funny that, the Andy Gray im listening to said it looked there was contact, i guess people read whatevers said however they want it to come across.

See above for my other point.

Stop sticking up for him, there was no contact and you know it :p

Martin Tyler & Andy Gray that was THE sky football team, why they've seen fit to faff about with it for the last couple of seasons i've no idea.

I think Ian Darkes doing more football these days because Sky dont have as much boxing as they once did. He's no Tyler though.

So Andy Gray reckons there was contact? Hardly conclusive. He isn't the footballing god many people will tell you he is y'know, he very often gets things wrong.

He couldn't see from real time whether there was contact or not, he is going on the same replays as me, you and everyone else on this forum.

No contact at all.

No contact at all.

Except he hasnt, he can replay it as many times as he wants in the studio.

Anyway, like i said, the contact is irrelevant.

But if that is the basis for a penalty now then god help us all. We'll be seeing penalties every game.
