I should finally be moving away from IDE this week. I'll just be using the new drive as a single drive setup. Is a floppy drive needed for windows installation, or is that only for raid setups? I'm using a MSI K8N Diamond motherboard.
The reason I need to know for certain is that I have no floppy drive and my power supplies floppy cable doesn't work. So I may need to buy a new PSU too. Really need to be sure.
The K8N Diamond is nForce4 based so you'll be able to set the SATA ports up to run in single drive mode in the BIOS. In that mode Windows will see the drive natively during the install process.
