First TDR crash in Witcher 3 on reference 980 Ti. Unstable card?

I think card is just not stable on auto boost.Because when i am launching game from menu after loaded game then clock at start is 1177mhz. And in that moment game is crashing driver randomly. Second thing. When i am alt tabbing from windows, the same, clock is 1177mhz . And game can randomly crash driver at that moment. So what you think? Can i be right just maxed boost is not stable?

Uninstall nvidia drivers from control panel (programs and features). Re-install. Do NOT just reinstall over the previous ones using the nvidia program.

Verify/repair Witcher 3 through gog galaxy.

Turn OFF the fps limiter if you have it on. Just use normal vsync. Make sure game is set to fullscreen (defaults to borderless windowed).

Turn power management to maximum performance in nvidia control panel.

Then, and only then post again :p

After a lot of thinking I'm almost certain its the electricity of your house that is the problem, not a stable current. I would consider moving.

Clock at start is 1177mhz then is decreasing due to temperature to lower values, like 1150mhz and then 1100mhz. And on 1177mhz witcher 3 simply can crash randomly display driver. ( ( for example : start of loaded game or back to game from windows alt tab ). Can i be right then? Card is not OC, its stock, auto boosting to 1177mhz.

Ok i have an idea to solve this thread. How many people have had this notice pop up on their pc regardless of oc or playing any game in 980ti..
353.06 nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered"?????

I have about 10 times while oc lol including black screens and even GREEN screens and screens with blue dots allover the screen coz i dont settle for less lol.

Now my 980ti's are performing better than the ones with after coolers hehe

I see this error all the time using the latest Nvidia drivers....

..on my Fury X. :D

I looped 3DMARK 11 extreme demo for 15 loops. It crashed display driver about in 6 loop. So card is faulty definitely. I will use my refund 14 days . So i was right about that.!

Everytime i am starting 3dmark 11 extreme demo, it will crash display driver at start .At 1177mhz auto boost clock. So card definitely. I will use 14 refund and get my money back tommorow.

sounds like quantum flexing of the card or a flux capacitor is reaching the end of it's life

But seriously sounds like your monitor is crashing, is it over clocked?

Should i return my card back if it crashing randomly display driver in 3dmark 11 demo?

Thank you for the laughs sir. Funny stuff!

I say return the card and get a AMD card, I heard their drivers are rock solid. In particular the Fury X I recommend. Apparently as a bonus the radiator system sings for you. What more can you ask for eh? :p

Yeah but, what do you think? Driver issue or replace card?

:D:D:D

On a serious note, going by all his issues I'd be looking at his Power Supply first and or if the system is set up correctly. He doesn't come across as someone who is that knowledgeable about computers, or he isn't English
