First time build problems: Flashing green light on Motherboard! Need help!

theres a + and a - wire at the bottom of the mb that connects to the case power button and same again for the reset button

take all the wires off and just connect the reset +/- to the mb power +/- pins and start pc with reset switch

if no joy put them all back to how they were originally

There's no bent pins on the cpu, so that's good checked it all

No joy :(, might be the PSU not sure

Not sure if you have done this, but i would

Remove the GPU.

Take the battery out for about 30 mins (unplug the PSU from the wall first).

Replace the battery and plug the PSU in again. Connect the monitor to the motherboard and see if it boots to bios, if it does, load Optimised Defaults in your bios settings.

EDIT

Could be the PSU. Its not the best but should be fine, unless it got damaged somehow.

Just noticed you said "I couldn't turn it on when I flicked the PSU switch".

Hope you didn't use the switch at the back of the PSU to turn the PC on and off.

ive known psu's to still be faulty even after passing paperclip test

somethings up as the mb green light keeps flashing,if you could beg/steal/borrow another psu to try

We talking about the big green led bulb at the bottom right of the board? It should be solid green if you are supplying the mb with power correctly.

Just to check, you have the 24-pin AND the 4-pin all connected properly?

I would take everything out and build the pc outside the case with the minimum components connected to get it running.

Put Motherboard on non conductive area, some people use the motherboard box, dont put it on top of the antistatic bag.

Reseat cpu and heatsink.

Reseat ram, if you have 2 sticks just install 1

Reseat power cables, dont install anything else.

Connect display to motherboard, dont install the gfx card

Clear cmos (shows how in manual chapter 1.6 jumpers )

To power on without the case some people short pins with a screwdriver however to be safe I would buy a cable to do this, you can search for HDE ® Power Sw Motherboard Cable For Pc Power Switch Button

Basically connect the minimum amount to see if the board will fire up.

On other forums with different Asus boards some folk that had the blinking led were caused by dodgy psu or faulty front panel usb on case.

I think the mb may just be dead :(, like an Idiot I threw everything away so Wouldn't be able to return, well I've got the boxes just no anti static bag etc, It's still in the bin though don't really wanna rummage out of the bin as it'll be dirty etc :/

It could be dead but like wazza300 said I would try and get another psu to try.
Maybe someone on the forums locally could help you out.
