First time overclock!

i went into my bios and both the on chip lan controllers were disabled, so i enabled both of them and rebooted, and there is still no sign of any lan connection in my network connections
 
Try going into the network adaptor in Device Manager and disabling it and then re-enabling it.
 
success :)

that took all of...nearly 4 hours. i had to system restore to quite a while ago, the lan connections are now visible and ive got it working

youve been a diamond over past 2 days mate cob, thanks a lot :) if i ever meet you, il buy you a pint or 2 :)

What should I do before I start messing with the core + clock speeds to make sure its as safe as possible?

This is what I have.

Abit KN9 Ultra
Nvidia(no special brand)7300GT 512MB
AMD X2 5200+
Crucial Ballistix (kit)2GB DDR2 800MHZ
WD 400GB 16MB HD

My settings are: Ram set to 4-4-4 12 2T
CPU EXT Clock=216
Multi=13
HT=4
Gives me a stable 2.8GHz
Ram volts on default 2.2V
Cpu volts on default 1.35V(1.3v)
CPU cooler is Akasa AK 875 heat pipe with 95mm fan(PWM).

also, another problem has arisen ( i think god hates me).

my pc wont stop randomly restarting. checked all the temps, they are all completely normal (both cpu's under 30, gpu under 60, mobo under 35)

wtf could be going it?

Overclocked or at stock?
 
everything is stock now

edit : it only ever happens when i load up call of duty 2. im about to try tiger woods to see if its just that game, or any game.
