Nice idea mate. if you struggle to find the Lianli top, you can get Koolance shrouds, that might fit a bit better, They come in all the usual sizes.

I'm new at water cooling but the way this loop is setup, it's just transferring warm water from cpu to the gpu?

Then it goes up to the radiator where it's cooled and then back down.
order doesn't really matter, the temperature will normalise what ever way it's laid out.

Wouldn't it be better to go through the radiator first so it's cool before hitting the cpu?

I doesn't make a difference really, the temperature equalises over the whole loop after a while.
you won't see any real world difference in temps if you change the order
