And now the fun begins! :)

So today I learn't that you can't squeeze a 560, a 480 and a 360 all into the SMA8. No matter what the 360 is just a few mm too big. Hey ho.

So I have gone with a new EK CoolStream CE 280 and two more EK Vardar F3-140ER's, plus a third for the last mount position in the flex bays. Should all be here on Friday, bar the mounts from Caselabs which will arrive on the 3rd June.

The 560 and 480 rads/fans are in, so not a total loss! Picture of rads tomorrow! :)

Cheers guys :)

Following. Is the gold black Noble chair real leather or the pvc version?

Thanks dude! :)

Its the PVC version, honestly though I am not in the slightest bit regretful for not ordering the leather version. This chair is so comfortable and looks awesome!

Cheers!

Here is my question, do i need to worry about the clearance above the reservoirs and should i be concerned about cooling performance, will the XE give noticeable difference over the SE when all said and done? Advice please! :)

Aesthetically I am considering changing the rad for a thinner version anyway....

Cheers :)

EDIT: I meant SE not CE so changed in statement above!!

Clearance isnt a problem, you only need access to it when you need to top up fluids. Looks like your reservoirs 'unclip' so shouldnt be an issue for you. Just make sure your tubing doesnt restrict being able to move them about slightly so you can gain access.

I am using hardline, so moving the reservoirs about is going to be tough without the possibility of leakage...

Any idea on performance gain with the XE?

Cheers :)

Ok I have had a chat with EK and they advised the following:
  • XE 480 with 120ER Vardar fans can dissipate up to 800W with coolant temperature 10°C above ambient.
  • PE 480 with 120ER Vardar fans can dissipate up to 670W with coolant temperature 10°C above ambient.
  • SE 480 with 120ER Vardar fans can dissipate up to 560W with coolant temperature 10°C above ambient.

I think I am going to go with the SE as it will give me 35mm back into the case.

Cheers :)

DomPlat installed for visual effect, will decide on silver to black mod later in the build.. Jury's out...

New Ek CoolStream SE 480 installed, much better clearance and visuals.

Man you need another 64GB kit, fill up all them dims :)

Great looking project, really tempting me to grab a caselabs when thier two tone are back on sale. The space looks really great.

The case is second to none, it's great to build in! Thanks for the support! :)

My thoughts too. I think thin radiators look way better aesthetically, and with little performance difference I don't see much point in thick (and especially monster) rads.

The RAM will look great in black, I'm thinking of a similar SMA8 build with lots of carbon fiber, it is looking amazingly sleek and stealthy. Good work.

Edit: I'll also agree that board demands 8 DIMMS :p

Yeah I have now removed the XE's and replaced with all CE or SE's and it looks way better! Mounting the D5 G2 pumps today!

Well guys, I too agree it does look so much better with a full compliment I will fill the DIMM gaps in - hey it's not like anything over 16-32Gb gives any performance benefit!... At this point it's all aesthetics! :D

Cheers :)

Looking great so far Rasphelt. Quite ambitious for a first water project!

By the looks of things you've just won the lottery - no expense spared :D

Good luck with the rest of the build, will be great to see the finished result.

Thanks buddy! :)

I am concerned about the hardline part of the build, which I am rapidly coming towards.... pictures of my fails will follow! :)

No lottery win here mate, just decided I wanted to build a top spec benching/gaming rig with no holds barred! I got a bonus and figured this was the best way to spend it fast! :D

Cheers :)

Quick update: Waiting for the MSI Gaming X 1080's, the 6950X, a couple of other modifications and finally some parts to arrive from the US and then I can finish putting this together! Then I can start seeing what I can get out of this baby!

I am not sure about the black DomPlat modification - I will probably decide last tbh... here is a quick potato pick of the 128Gb 3200Mhz DDR4 DomPlat in all its glory! :)
