Fish Box

do prawns have same nutritional benefits as fish ?

I specifically avoid prawns unless you know they are fresh, and have not toured the world for processing, but if you know your market store, ok.
also not sure how many are farmed, since like farmed salmon, I can't believe their taste wouldn't be impacted,
they've become a democratised food, racing for cheap production.

... would prefer your manx kippers

Lower omega-3 oils so not so good there. Similar protein wise to salmon, and low calorie generally.

Well it was fishbox day yesterday.

Should mention that if anyone fancies sent trust me a email address and we both get extra fish and a discount for me as well.

I did the scallops with chorizio (cooked this for 20mins on low to let the fat render) frozen peas and scallopps for 2mins with a massive bunch of spring greens last night.

Quite simply not enough :) very tasty.

afterthought ... is there bagged ice in the box too ?
area code is interesting FAroahs ? if they told you which ship that would be great traceability

Yes, a big part bio degradable ice pack inside pretty much the size of the box Itself. I get the box deliveried to work and its sits under my desk for the afternoon and is still perfectly chilled when i get home.

I do not work for these guys btw :)

(Ice doubles up well as nice ice pack for shoulders after a 3k swim)

They are looking into replacing the polystyrene box for a more eco version but i guess its down to cost.

Out of interest what size box do you order and how is the fish portioned? How many meals do you get out of a box?

If ì'm buying for a couple do you get 2 portions of each type of fish in each delivery - is it something you can specify in your preferences?

I have a fish monger come to the local farm shop every Friday/Saturday and typically let them know what I'm after in advance but interested to compare value for money.

Each portion is approx 120g so enough for one person, The GF is vege so i just get the medium box every 2 weeks enough 10 meals, I am sure you can could get it cheaper but the variety, quality and freshness when it arrives is really good. As mentioned before the fishmonger in Derby has very little variety, a pain in the arse to get to (parking prices) and had a few bits off him that was past its best still fine just past its best :)
