Fitness Trackers

Remember to actually set your weight, stride length etc, to be more accurate. Amazing how many people don't set stride length, track a couple of miles walk in gps phone to get distance and then divide it by how many steps your tracker says you've done.
And if you want to see how close it is use the met compendium.

That's per mile calories

It has no GPS... sadly therefore not a one-stop shop.

Hmmm, didn't read the description closely enough so I assumed where it listed GPS it meant it had it, rather than being tethered to a phone. That's a shame. Not that I can afford it atm anyway.

Thanks Andy for the review. I wear the 'old' miband so was really interested in the HR aspects of the new one. The fact it doesn't periodically check HR is disappointing. Did you ever check the sleep HR mode? Monitoring my resting heart rate (RHR) is the main reason I would consider buying this one. People can use RHR to measure recovery, as an indication of illness etc.

Cheers

I wore it on my wrist one night, with the HR option selected, but I didn't see any results. Maybe it helps it know when you're in deep sleep?

Now that Microsoft have finally sorted the software, the MS Band 2 I've got is actually pretty damn good. Ticks most of the boxes; accurate HR sensor, GPS built in, notifications, works with Android/iOS/WP, decent companion app.

Battery life isn't wonderful, I'll usually get two days from it, 1 if I'm using GPS heavily.

Thanks for the update. Does it have music controls so I can change track etc whilst listening to deeper on but headphones from phone?

Quick heads up until the 31st March O2 are doing 6 months free membership to PureGym with a purchase of a Fitbit or VivosmartHR.

Not just for new members can be added to your current subscription. They are a little more expensive on there, but if you'll get the gym use it's a great deal.

Well after a few days with the blaze it's gone back. I cant put my finger on the exact thing I didn't like but really not feeling it. I think I would ahve been happier had it been £99 territory.

May give the band a try now its down to £149

Running the Cardiff Half Marathon tomorrow so curious to see how the Band 2 deals with both the forecasted appalling weather conditions as well as many other GPS devices in close proximity.

How did it cope?

Well got mine today, but as doing some OST this weekend, will start using Monday.

Let me know. How was sizing? Thinking a regular should be fine, roughly 8" wrist
