Fitocracy

It's not just the distance or time, though, it's the effort put out. If I had maintained the same pace on my solo ride this morning to achieve the same distance as you, I'd have only gotten 2450 points. It's probably based on calories burned, which I guess is the "fairest" way of comparing aerobic to anaerobic exercise... who knows, eh?
Looks like my assumption was mistaken. I just did 45 minutes on a stationary cycle and Fitocracy gave me 732 points for it, whereas a 35 minute ride yielded 275 points. It almost seems arbitrary.

Yeah but your speed is far higher on your stationary cycle than on your commute. I am sure it must take your speed into account as I have done 2 identical 3.9mile runs:

Run 1 - Avg speed = 8:06/mile, points = 671
Run 2 - Avg speed = 7:58/mile, points = 786

Same run, same distance but just quicker.

Missed the sub-7 minute quest as well.... Even though I did my first mile in 6:50, it must use the average for the run :(

wow

I only got should have put in light hills, on the way home its up hill all the way and did it at average speed of 13 mph

You'll find the 1.5x faster speed also has a lot to do with it. As mentioned, I got over 100 points extra just for running 8sec/mile quicker over the same distance.

It's a bit confusing how comments that display when you look at someone's activities when you are in group view are different from ones for the same activity in the user's profile view.

The entire site seems unrefined and incomplete, though I suppose this is to be expected as it is still in beta. It seems like a great idea in principal, but it needs more features (more quests, achievements, rewards etc). I'm especially annoyed that there are no cycling quests ;)

They are adding them as they go.

It is beta, and still quite rough. The searching thing really need to be faster, or even btter would be a category search as well. So Cardio - Cycling - Cycle type etc.
They are adding images, descriptions etc, so it will get better! They are also doing graphs and progress checker etc, it will just take time!

That's good to know - it's not fair that Oddjob is getting so many points from achievements ;)

I will stick with it, seeing as it's free and shows potential.

Do all the people that use Runkeeper have their accounts linked or are you just putting it in manually?

Keep forgetting to update this, its quite tricky too as I don't always record my times etc. May give me a kick to start doing so.

If you do running then you could always let Runkeeper do the hard work for you. It will record your times, pace and distance amongst other things. If you link your Fitocracy account to it then it will pull your workouts for you when you open the "Track" page and select the date of the workout....

Have a look at my workouts on Fitocracy to see what I mean as these have the links to the Runkeeper workouts as well - http://www.fitocracy.com/profile/Richie/

You should just note them down as you go TBH. They are meant to be making a mobile app to allow this as well but I guess that will be a while off.
